so it looks like we're all in favour of skipping Denny's breakfast in an effort to get to the meet earlier. BUT we should meet at the Denny's regardless, so we can wait for everyone to cross the border and last pit-stop before heading down.

If everyone agrees. Then the only change is that we will not be eating at Denny's, and we will be leaving within 15 minutes of the Denny's meet time. Sound good?

Sounds good

Also whoever had 2 way radios should bring it to the Friday meet, so we can test them and see if they work

While I agree , for those of us traveling 200+ miles to attend . letting us know 7 days prior to the event that we need to be there that early does suck, when you consider tech didn't happen til 11am for last years event.

Thats life I guess.

For sure, maybe a tent for shade. I may take a nap after the drivers meeting if possible due to the early morning start to get to the venue on time.

For those of us registered for the Auto X , we need to formulate a game plan. Pre-dawn leave time , convoy perhaps. Some cars with Radar for sure.

Anyone have any idea's? WE are going to be efficient.

I am almost thinking of booking a hotel close to the venue.
I am a grumpy girl when I have to wake up at 4am

This popped into my mind also, whn I read the grid time. I would be interested in sharing a room with others to keep costs down. I think there are rooms in the area for $80 and under.

Anyone else interested in this plan?

I also won't be down until 11pm'ish if that was the case due to other commitments until 6-7pm in Vancouver on Saturday.

What an absolute disaster.

I already purchased my AutoX ticket, and I'll be damned if I waste $60 on it. But for my gf and I, waking up and leaving the house at 3am is simply not an option. We will definitely be getting a hotel.

there is another hotel called flagship Inn (www.flagshipinn.com) with 4.5 star ratings on travel advisor, $75 for a king size bed and 2 people, $69 for 1 person, very close as well.

The big problem for me is I'm not sure when I'm going to be finished up with my friends wedding on Saturday, so I will be leaving Canada probably 8 or 9pm, and check in at the hotel super late. If anyone wants to drive down with me the night before at a very late time, feel free to PM me and I'll give you my contact information.

Wow, 7:30am is super early. I was planning on LEAVING Kenmore at 6:30 but I guess that won't happen. Who needs sleep after a friend's b-day party anyways.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that this information would have been handy a couple weeks ago. I understand that you guys were probably still nailing down details for everything but most of us coming from out of the area most likely have already made arrangements. I am travelling from Wenatchee which about four hours from bremerton. Was already planning on an early morning but dude.......

And call me a noob or whatever but start at 11:15 and done by 1:00? How many runs are we gonna get? Two? If that's the case, I would like my money back. It just doesn't justify $60 to make one run to get to know the course and basically have one "real" pass at the track.

Sorry if that came across as bitchy but I think I may have a point.

So fellow VIC Autocrossers. Who all is thinking about the Saturday night hotel stay now?

To make it for the tech inspection on time you will have to leave the GVRD about 3-3:30am.

There are a few of us PMing eachother about this right now about sharing rooms but not much public view activity. So I thought I'd try to get that ball rolling.

I don't think you are offside with your comments at all.
Hopefully it will all work out good & the BSCC guys will see we get a fair amount of runs. They look like a very well run club on their website & on Youtube autocross run footage.

Yeah after writing that tirade I thought a little more about it. If we continuously run back to back, then, depending on how many subies we have, we should get a decent amount of runs. I guess I just am a little frustrated at the early time and the fact that we didn't get the info until five days before the event.

Just a thought (take it for what you want), but did it never occur to either:

1) wait for these details before signing up
OR
2) be completely free as to have enough time To allow for all day to be free, even if it's ony for a few hours of autoX?

As someone who's worked in customer service for a number of years, the onus lies mostly with the purchasing customer. Purchasing service without knowing the inherent details is NOT making an informed decision.

It's easy to place blame on the organizers, and I'll agree, information should be readily available earlier.

Protip: don't pay for something you are not completely informed about.

I was and am planning for an all day event. An event that I was under the assumption that was starting at 9am. When traveling from another area, especially with a group, an hour and a half is a big deal. Particularly that early in the morning.

I have worked in customer service for several years and have had things blamed on me that I felt weren't my fault. I understand that certain things are still in development right up until the day of the event but I would think the time we need to be there would be a priority.

With all that being said, I am very excited for the event and hope everything goes smoothly. If it doesn't, maybe I will have to think a little more about making it out to this event next year with other established events taking place at other times throughout the year that seem to have everything figured out.

I have not paid yet.
So now I am unsure what to do.
As well as fearful entries will fill up before I decide.
