Default Costco Selling Cars in US

My sister in Cali is looking to buy a new car. She went to the dealership and they offered her $500 off MSRP. If you go to Costco, they will give you $1500 off MSRP and they work as a broker type.

Do you think something like this will occur in Canada? What strengths and weaknesses do you see in this?

Well that is not bad but people get cars near/under invoice now. How does that compare to $1500 under MSRP?

This isn't much different from a freelance private broker who works with dealerships and gets people fixed deals on purchases. It gets rid of the haggling aspect and dealers are happy to have a broker come back again and again.

As a customer, you can still do better if you know how to haggle, but for most people this is WAY less stressful and they get a OK deal, better than they would get on their own anyway.

Now, are they buying from dealers, or from the manufacturer? I would guess they're still buying from dealers...
