Default Beta Testing Maperformance Ball Bearing Billet 20G 430whp- Juan Tuned

Event: Road Dyno
Location: Simpsonville, SC
Ambient Temp: 90
Elevation: 1000
Weather: clear
Track and Conditions: asphalt, clean, flat
Tires: 225/45/17 falken ziex

Car: 06 WRX Sti
Tuner: Juan Medina
Dyno Info: Virtual Dyno and Airboy
Transmission: 6spd
Gear: 4th
VD-Peak HP at RPM: 430whp @ 6897 RPM
VD-Peak Torque at RPM: 409wtq @ 4509 RPM
Peak HP at RPM: 400whp @ 6680 RPM
Peak Torque at RPM: 377wtq @ 4500 RPM
Baseline hp/tq for a stock on same dyno: 215whp
Target Boost: 25psi
Target AFR: 11.5
Fuel: E85
Engine/Power Modifications: Maperformance BB Billet 20g 8cm2, DeatchWerks 1100cc side feed injectors, Perrin v2 fuel rails, full 3" TBE, injen catted downpipe, Borla Hush CBE, Hallman MBC, air intake shield, Walbro 255, TGV deletes by Juan Medina, 70mm APS CAI, APS hard inlet, GT Spec gen 2 headers/uppipe, Grimmspeed PnP intake manifold, 11 STi TMIC
Driveline Modifications: ACT HD SS.
Suspension Modifications: tanabe gf 210 springs
Other Modifications: Gruppe N motor/transmission mounts, pitch stop, ss brake lines, wrx trunk swap

I decided to go big this time and see if I could get 400 whp out of the stock block conservatively and maintain my sneaky daily driver. Juan was down with the plan from day 1 and helped a ton to reach that goal. Upgraded from Blouch 18g to Maperformance 20g, 70 mm APS CAI from homemade CAI, APS turbo inlet from stock, 2011 sti tmic from 06 STi TMIC, GT Spec gen 2 headers/uppipe from stock. This goes with 1100cc DW injectors on e85. The tune is great, turbo has great spool and the car feels super smooth. Even idle and start up are nice and consistent. Power is great and immediate, numbers indicate that it makes more power every where than my 18g. The car was tuned in Hades and now that the weather is cooler, it is getting even stronger. Huge thanks to Juan and Tyler for all the help, it was definitely worth it!

this car is sick, it turn out awesome the response is amazing. It hits torque kind of late because is catted. Yes it has a CAT . But if you look at 3000rpm it makes more power than some VF39s on E85.

The turbo also sounds sick, here is a crappy video but you get the idea. This was on low boost 20-21psi

Huge thanks to Maperformance for letting me test this turbo, you can't beat the performance of this turbo for the money.

Yeah I think they are really similar they are both modified 30r CHRA . With the Maperformance 20G you don't get the hard oil and coolant lines but you can modified the stock ones and they will work.

Yes sir is IWG, I don't see a need to waste money in EWG setup. Rusell the OP is suppose to get a 4 bar OMNI sensor this week. I will post high boost plots as soon as we get it. At lower boost setting it holds boost all the way and the delivery is very smooth.

On the virtual dyno graph the red line is his blouch 18g 7cm2 on E85 , you guys can see there is gains every where. Like I said before no turbo will beat this power band.

I have no pump numbers but I would think you can make 370-380whp Dyno Jet with 100-200rpm later spool.

That's awesome for IWG, rock steady at over 20psi. Definately going to be looking into this turbo once my motor finally dies. Nice to have IWG and a "stockish" turbo sitting there for CA smog inspection.

im sure the boost is solid with the hallman, but the boost curve plotted is not the actual boost curve....the stock MAP sensor pegs ~23.5 psi....thats why its a flat line at 23.5 psi

this is true, thats why I said I will be posting a new graph when the OP gets his OMNI 4 bar sensor, probably this week or next week.

At 20psi and 17psi the drop on boost from peak to redline is <1psi

$1200, if you modify you hard lines and get the braided oil line with the restrictor for GT30r it will come out to about $1270. It is a great deal when ball bearing turbos out last journal bearing and also when hybrid ball bearings (ceramic cartridge) out last regular ball bearing by 3 times their life per my work experience.

I have an update for later , we installed the OMNI 4 bar sensor so I will post boost plots tonight or tomorrow. We also gained quite a few wtq and whp at 3000rpm an at redline thanks to better weather . We are going to try to run a little more boost also....
