Default Getting a New 2011 WRX soon!!! Need some input

Hey guys I currently own a 2008 350z touring which is a beast but its time to move on to bigger and better things. This is why I'm getting the 2011 WRX. Just need your input on a few things. First of all, I'm leasing it. Yes I know alot of you hate tht idea but just wait a minute. Ive leased all my cars for years and modified them all. Just end up putting them back to stock and get a new car every three years. Im thinking Im eventually gonna buy this after the lease so Im not worried about modifying it alot cause I think Ill just buy it out when the lease is over. Any ways Im getting the base wrx for a listed price of $26,200 dollars with a residual rate of 54% and payments will be 380 dollars a month for 42 months and then at the end of the 42 months I have the option to buy it out for 14,000 dollars. Just wondering is money wise this is a good deal. Also, car wise, is the base model a good idea. I was thinking the limited model but just cant justify spending 4 grand more for the leather, HID lights, better sound system, spoiler, fog lights, sunroof and whatever else i get. I know its alot of extra stuff but just doesnt appeal to me. If im being stupid someone let me know. Also I am buying the base model which comes with no spoiler Im going to need a wrx 2011 spoiler asap if someone can tell me where to get it it would be appreciated. Also, just double checking that its 14 drilled holes in the trunk to install. I know this is along as **** and no one wants to read it but sorry my next posts wont be nearly this long. Thanks for all the help guys

Just negotiate a better price for a Premium and you'll get your wing/foglights/sunroof/heated seats.

I have a base model and i'm perfectly happy with it. I don't have a need for any of the upgraded extras. Don't count on the limited having a nice stereo. They're all terrible.

modding a lease, including drilling body pieces? yikes.

whatever floats your boat. I wouldn't personally do it. that lease monthly payment isn't much less then just financing the car out right.

well, you can walk away from the car if you are tired of it at the end of the lease, that's a good thing. have you already priced out insurance?

if money is an issue - don't go crazy on the power mods.

I havent priced out inssurance yet but Im ok with where my inssurance is right now with my 350z.. you think it's going to go up with the wrx? I'm assuming it would but coming from a 350z with high inssurance rates im sure it can't be that much more maybe im way wrong? and yea money for now is an issue just going to do some simple mods to start

Take that lease payment for the next three-five months, live on some rice and beans, and put a better downpayment toward the car and finance it. I know what it's like to be emotionally attached to buying a car, trust me, but that lease payment seems really high.

If you can get a base for invoice plus delivery, which you should be able to do, that puts you right at 24800 or so. Try to save 4000 for a downpayment and your financing will be more manageable, depending on your credit and apr of course. Also, I think you would be better off financing for 72 months in order to lower your payment than you would leasing the car, most likely.

And please, don't roll any negative equity into the car. I hate to say it but it sounds like if you are buying based on monthly payment alone, it would be a bad move from a responsibility standpoint.

With all this said, we have all made financial mistakes and lived to tell about them.

ok cool.. no money is not like tight like that i'm just saying car money for right now is not

very deep. I just think leasing it now for 42 months at 380 a month and thern having

the option to buy a new car in 3.5 years is nice. That will be in 2014.. who knows

what subaru will have by then.. ya know

Price is to high, and you're negotiating too much on payment terms. You should be able to get a base for $24,XXX no problem. In fact, for $500 more than you're paying i could have gotten a premium.

No chance in hell id pay that much for a base, but i wouldn't lease either so were not in the same boat. WRX's hold value really well, with 3 year old cars selling private party for at least $17k. Another thing to consider.

Ask him how much he's selling the car asap. I sell cars and it sounds like their hitting a home run on you...which isnt a bad thing for us..

I am guessing we will see price hikes of WRXs (and other Japan built cars) over the next few months until plants get back on service.

Glad my WRX hit US soil last week lol.

Buyer: hey I would like to order this WRX

your lease quote is a little high, but then again I don't know your credit score..I had the same dilemma when I was getting mine because I don't like the stock spoiler but I do like some of the extra's, specifically, navigation. So what I did was negotiate my base with a navigation installed (after the fact) through the factory...Since they didn't have a black wrx base with navigation, I made a fuss and got the navigation added on for free...remember, you're not obligated to buy anything and if one dealer doesn't make you a deal, another will...stay patient and shop around and let the jerk off dealers compete for your business...

Finance right from the beginning for the best price. Never plan on leasing to finance. You will end up paying more than you would have if you just financed right off the bat.

This is especially important if you plan to mod it. Which you will.

Well, if you go that route, and buy it out. You will be paying over $33,000 by the time you are done.

VS.

Just buy it now, Subaru is offering 1.9%-3.9%(depending on credit) Worst case would be $100 more a month(3.9%), but you own the car in 60months, and save almost 7Grand

When I bought mine, I saw a lot of value in the Premium.

Being that you get these items with the Premium ...

Trunk Spoiler (I like)

Fog Lights (decoration only ... IMO)

Power-Tilt/Sliding Moonroof (not terribly noisy at highway speeds)

All-Weather Package (heated front seats, heated side mirrors & windshield wiper de-icer

I couldn't bring myself to go for the leather seats & hid option for 4g's. I don't like burning my legs in the summer and freezing in the winter ... even with heated seats. I know a lot of people love leather in their cars, I do however like it at home. Would have loved the HID's though.

Stereo options are the same across the board ... Good luck with your purchase.
