Vw traitor wins the Internet.
Op there is a stickied thread that has a whole write up on all bovs. Look it up I'm on my phone so can't help you. I think it's called "everything you wanted to know about bovs" or something. Plus look in unibombers manifesto there is a section there. Most people don't put a new bov on their stock Rex tho |

Bam! Everything you need to know! I ran that valve on mine and ended up removing it. I didn't like the idle fluctuations when I would pull a heavy boost load, then dump and watch the car struggle. I went with a Forge BPV instead and am totally happy.

to just throw it on there stock, that a big bad idea.
you NEED a tune. NEED. not optional. furthermore our cars are pissy when it comes to bov's and messing with a/f's etc. Do you research. +1 for the forge BPV( Bypass!!!!! valve, not blowoff.) |

You need to read Unabombers Manifesto on the subject as well. You can't tune for an atmospheric BOV. Nor will running one harm anything, it will just make your car run like crap.

Right. It does the exact same thing the stock BPV does, exactly the same way. The only real benefit is that's it will hold more boost.
However, if you are looking to throw money at your car, this at least won't break anything. |

Mine is holding 19 psi right now, but I certainly don't have too much faith in it for anything beyond that. I'll be getting the Forge unit when I get tuned for my next round of mods.

If you want psssh psssh noises just get a protune with a Cold Air intake. You will run better, and have the sound you want. (Thought the CAI doesn't add much to the power of the car)
I'd rather do this than put something on my car that will make it sound like crap but make kewl noises for the kiddies. I have a tune for my CAI and it sounds awesome and my car runs like a beast. (it has more parts than the CAI but that's the most noticeable.) |

To those that say you can't tune for a BOV, for the most part you are correct. However, you can now use the accessport to tune with speed density. Or you could switch to a blow through setup.

This is true but so far beyond the scope of the OP's question, and not particularly helpful.

True, just wanted to clear up some misconceptions though.
