Default two green mystery plugs under dash

I was looking under my dash and found these two green 2-prong plugs next to each other. They attach to each other perfectly, but I've no idea what they are for and if they are supposed to be connected. I did recently have an alarm installed on my car.

I think that puts the ecu in test mode or something like that, it's suppose to be disconnected.

A buddy of mine installed the alarm for me. He never mentioned anything about it and I was there when he did the installation. I guess I'll give him a ring. The car has been running fine without it with no hiccups. Just curious.

I also remember reading something in NASIOC that mentions that plug as a ECU test mode initializer. But I think in the thread that I had read, the connectors are white and not green.

they're are the green test mode conectors, when you change programs via the cobb they tell you to plug them together, then when your done loading the program you disconnect them . The dealer prob. uses them when checking for codes, reading ecu, ect..

Yes they do put the car in test mode, and most definately they need to be disconnected unless you are undating the ECU or something to that effect.

there is no harm in plugging them in... plug them in, then turn the key and watch your car do all kinds of fun things by itself. (yes it is a test mode)
