I was leaning more towards the road bike. I want to get a used one, but not sure on the correct size for me, and I dont want to be a dick and go to a bike shop to get fitted to only buy used.

Any help on the size? 5'10. Things to look for or stay away from.

I'm like 5'9" and I ride a 56CM. Specialized Sequoia Comp with Mavic wheels.

Can someone recommend me a comfortable seat for long riding? Sometimes I ride more than an hour and my ass starts hurting from my "fat ass" Specialized seat I got.

ignore all the size recommendations here and do yourself a favor - drop a tape measure from your balls to the floor. Go to the bike manufacturer's website and look for a 'standover' or 'S.O.' measurement spec that is less than the balls->floor measurement and that's your size.

<----owned 60cm Cannondale.
<----owns 56cm Civia

........../\ fit about the same

I am 5' 9" and personally, 52CM to 54CM is the largest bike I would ride. However, this is just my opinion and I tend to like smaller bikes!! Also depends on your inseam... if you are a 30" I'd lean towards the 52CM. If you have longer legs like a 32" or 33" inseam, consider the 54CM.

I have no idea on your budget, but one company that has awesome frames with good componet sets for decent money is Orbea and you can find some sweet used Orbeas.

This is what I have now.

I also want some new bar tape to add some color to my bike. It's a mix of silver, carbon, black and plastic chrome right now.

Here is my current rig, my poor mtb hasn't been ridden in months. I picked this one up at a garage sale and threw on some new/used parts. It's a blast to ride and I'd really like to buy a fixed gear wheelset because I think that would be even more fun. Unfortunately I'm not sure if my crappy knees can take it so I've actually considered picking up a geared road bike...who knows...we'll see. If I keep this one around I'm going to give drop bars a shot again. I put these on because after riding a mtb for so long going straight to drops was too much of a difference.

...and you wonder why you want a new saddle. Dunno what to say other than you have to pay for quality. The combination of minimal padding and the Ti rails makes a nice hammock for your taint while supporting your hip bones.

I've been using them for almost 20 years.

Just use black tape, it doesn't get dirty from your grungy hands.

But the sheer volume of carbon on that bike makes me stiffy pants.
Now with even more carbon fiber.

for $400-$600? I'd definately buy that for 600. I personally think she could get $800.

Nice! It was either a 575 of my Heckler when I was making the purchase. Nobody had a Yeti to ride around me, so the Heckler is was. I love my Heckler, but the 575 is a sweet ride, too...

$300 is a fair price but aparently people will pay more. List it for $500 and see what happens.

I got $400 for my '93 Cannondale R800 last month - this Lemond is newer and in immaculate shape. I'd expect it to go for far more than $300, but we'll see what happens (already have someone interested)
