Call me crazy but i think the crawford eco-block made my car sound better, so far it has met my mpg expectations....

They have excellent grip , IMHO. And they're cheap. As for stiffness...add a few psi above the recommended level, it helps.
The noise starts to bug me though, especially after I noticed - to my astonishment - that my Hakkas R2 are significantly more quiet, despite being a winter tyre.

So that chip in my windshield that I had repaired a month ago just couldn't handle the weather. Turned into a nice crack just about the entire length horizontally -_-

Woo. Could be worse though. At least I'll have a brand spankin new windshield.

Any of you guys run into this problem?

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1846211

I installed a sub yesterday and the car stalled on the way to work this morning. I'm concerned but it's got a lot of the same symptoms as when the ECU is reset and learning. Only difference is that it started up on the first try.

^ Check your battery. My car would do this and my battery was 7 years old. Put in a Optima Yellow Top and no more problems.

No problems getting started though. I do have quite a bit of corrosion that I need to clean off that isn't helping.

I didn't have a problem getting started either but the battery can't take the extra strain of an amp. I would notice if my head unit was really quiet, one of my amped speakers would start to cut in and out because my battery didn't have enough power.

What battery do you have?

Did you disconnect the battery for the install? If so you need to do a proper ECU reset. You can find the steps here.

Last time I disconnected my battery my idle speeds were completely screwed until I did this.

Battery was disconnected. I've reset my ECU before... I don't recall the steps being that intense. But that sounds like a good possible solution. I'll give that a shot later.

Update: Reset the ECU (kinda half-assed it) and I cleaned up the corrosion (something I've been meaning to do for a long time. The crap ate the anno off my SPT tie down. ). Car seems to be running much better now. I went driving three times today and it died all three times. Went out after the reset and it didn't die. Idle still kinda sucks though. :/ I think that will sort out over a couple of days like it has in the past. Stupid ECU.

Update 2: Didn't fix it. Died on the way to work.

Damn it's been a long time since I've posted on here lol. Anyone know for sure if a 2010 Forester climate control unit would work with my 2010 Impreza? I know it won't fit with my dash trim. Just wondering if I can plug it in and have it work.

This is what I'm looking at specifically:

I remember switching to my Yellow Top Optima batt in an Autozone parking lot a few years ago.. I was surprised the car wouldn't start when I cranked it over the first time. The next time it did just fine and ran just fine. I remember reading about that initial startup not working, being normal..

I'd be interested to see if resetting ECU with those exact procedures in that post help.

I think there's a "complete cycle" that the ECU does when learning again after a reset, and car won't run at it's best until that happens, and a complete cycle consists of a lot of different parameters than might not happen for a while in daily driving. Like going past a certain fuel level in tank, and then certain lengths of trips, and other seemingly unconnected things.

I would bet if you disconnect battery, reconnect it, fill up the car gas tank, and then run it till almost empty, and then refill it again, it will be running right again.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++

BTW- to all you people complaining about my post (and I don't care) about "putting someone on blast" (which I have never even hear of), I was just warning you all that the guy was acting flaky and to be on alert if buying something from him. It has nothing to do with responding to a PM, it has to do with stopping all communication in the middle of a deal and disappearing for months, only to return to try to sell more stuff in this same thread..

I had this same issue I think. It needs an ECU update that only a dealership can do. They are going to charge you about $100 for it but you can probably fight it if you want to. I took mine in and it runs perfect now.

The car seems to be running normally now. It died once after the reset. Not repeatedly like it did before.

That dealer update sounds like a scam.

What exactly does the (i) stand for? I have just been starting to like Subaru's this year and where I am from (Alberta, Canada) AWD would just make a lot of sense. I am having a problem trying to figure out the difference between the Impreza models. Could you tell me what the Impreza 2.5i sport is? and what is the difference from an RS, STI, WRX, TS? I usually use autotrader or kijiji and when i search Subaru Impreza there are alot of different models.

my favourite mod is ecu flash. can't imagine going back to stock. adding a bit of fuel in lower rpms and reducing some on top and adding timing everywhere transformed my car. the biggest gain is ofc throttle response. I wasn't expecting much gains but gains are gains xD

Interdasting...

Is that on the AT or MT? Does the transmission make a difference?

AT or MT doesn't matter. 2010 or older is defined for opensource.

So, I've had my TPMS light on for probably over 2 years now since I've been too lazy to get them put it in and finally did them today.
It feels weird with no lights on my dash. I feel like something is broken now.

Don't worry. The light will come back eventually. The sensors don't last forever.

Just an FYI for you guys.. Any time you disconnect your battery.. You need to turn the key to "ON" for a few seconds. And then start the car. I believe this is in the owners manual also.

When I installed new speakers, and then an amp and head unit.. I stumbled across this.

Does anyone have a grounding kit they recommend? Was suggested to do the add-on.

Other work that needs done:
All 4 rubber transmission lines
Stabilizer links

Key item noticed:
1 1/2 inch segment along cylinder head where there is mosture
