Question Cleaning windows - interior

Hey gang.. What kind of products do u use to wipe the inside of your windows?

I tried using Windex to wipe away the handprints and what not but it just leaves oil-like streaks/smears which I have to wipe extra hard to get rid of. Help!!

Thanks!
~K

Try mixing some dish washer soap with water and use a little bit of shop on rag or a towel to wipe your window.

I also head something about mixing winger with water.. not sure.. I don't want that winger smell in my car so I never tried it.

Newspaper is good.

I've treated the windows with that RainX anti-fog stuff, but it's nothing to write home about. In the end, water and newspaper should do the job.

There's a company called Stoner that makes some wicked window cleaner. I've just gotten used to having to wipe a little extra to be sure I'm rid of the streaks. Try using a little less cleaner, too. That can make a big difference in teh amount of streaking that occurs.

Cool, thanks guys. I will give the soapy water and newspaper a try first since I've got those already.. then I shall move on to Armorall and possibly Stoner if I can find some at Crappy Tire..

Thanks again!

DO NOT USE PRODUCTS to clean inside windows, ammonia buildup is easy to trap oils. The cheapest most affordable way is to use light damped cloth to wipe dirty area and second use a used cotton t-shirt to remove all the swirl stains. Newspaper works fine too.

I just posted on here about Windex. http://www.i-club.com/forums/showthr...350#post633350
It contains amonia. Don't use it on tinted windows. I just cleaned my windows with the Armor All stuff. Seems to work good. I have used water with some vinegar to clean my house windows. I haven't tried it on a car yet.
Ya, ya, I know what else they make with that recipe.

The Stoner Invisable Glass cleaner is great! I got in the other day with a friend and he asked if it was okay to roll up the window when it was already up I got a kick out of that.

Hey guys, I just started using this "car glass polish" that my dealer gave me when I bought my car - it's called Auto Glym.. it smells a little funny, but it removes oil marks left on by fingers and what not and makes the windows real clear leaving no streaks at all!

I'm not sure how much it costs, but it is terrific!

Ken.
