2013 Golf thread
What are your goals for this year?
- Buy the new TM Bladez. I hit them already and am in love, because they are that more accurate. Just depends on the regulars or the tours. I will get fitted for them this time. - Play more. - Get into the single digits for index/handicap from 13.5. (I started the year as a 17.8) - Might buy the new Odyssey high contrast putter, #7. I had a #7 which was replaced only this year with a Taylormade. - Play more. --kC

Oh, hey!
Closing on my new house soon, and there is an 18 hole course literally within walking distance from my house. I'm talking 100yds or so and I get a free one year membership when we move in. I'd like to break out the old clubs and actually develop my skills. Then maybe ill invest in a nice set of clubs, but I'll stick with the Dunlops for now. |

Oh, and I bought an indoor putting green from birdieball.com (13.5 x 2). I'll be in the barn isle this winter working on my 10 footers.

1 month 'till I play The Palm at Disney. Need to dig my clubs out of the shed and pick up a travel bag. Is Club Glove still the brand to get?

Yeah. Club glove. Remember, turn irons around and have heads inside bag, remove any removable heads if you can and take in your carryon. If theres ever more reason to have heads that can be removed on driver/3w/hybrids, thats it.... So when you travel, no one can mess with your clubs. Also, you can get one of them umbrellas/supports too.
And they just suspended play yet again. --kC |

I never even thought to do that. I usually just wrap a bunch of bath towels around the heads of my clubs, but turning the irons upside down sounds like a great idea. And this is the first time I will have a driver w/ removable head, so I will be sure to take it off as well. The RBZ 3 wood doesn't have a removable head, right? I cannot remember for the life of me, and as mentioned, the sticks are in the shed, and it's cold so I don't feel like going out there to look

After ending last year playing worse than I ever have, the desire to play this year hasn't kicked in (much) yet. I hope that changes soon. My timing has been so out of whack (and it doesn't help that I swing hard) that my misses are huge. If someone ever makes a golf course for people with huge snap-hooks, I'll be all set!
My short game used to be really solid, but it went down the pooper like the rest of my game last year But I walk by my golf clubs in my basement every time I'm down there, and they seem to be calling my name since they haven't moved since October I should just forgo any lessons, and get back to grooving my swing by feel (how I used to do it when I was good back in high school). It seems if someone has me do drills, that they never end up working and just screw up my swing in a new way |

those 2. I only played 6 times all of last year, and that included a 3 day stretch at Myrtle where I was barely any help to my scramble team. I might as well of left the driver in the bag except for one hole.
However, I'm getting out there this weekend. So after Saturday, I'll be well on my way to golfing more than 6 times this year. |

Are there any good drills to get better with wedges. I can hit my irons well even the long irons. I hit my driver well and getting better with woods off of the deck, but nothing I do helps with wedges.

My goals are to try out the new titleist drivers and move away from these white headed clubs.
I wish I had a close golf store that doesn't frown when you ask to test out a club. |

My goals:
1. Build a new combo set: 3-6 cavity backs, 7-PW blades. 2. Get down to scratch. 3. Find 20-30yds on my drives. 4. Play more tournaments. |

Short game is all feel man. That is where the scoring is at. If there was some secret to wedge/short game play, I would love to know it, but unfortunately, practice is the key. If you can figure it out, expect your scores to plummet.
