Question custom exhaust or apex-i ??????

ok since the turbo route is gonna be way way down the road i need to redo my current exhaust for a little better flow.

I currently have a universal brospeed muffler on there right now with all the stock piping.

I was considering getting the Apex-i cat back exhuast but not sure cuz of the price and all that.

Then I considered having a 2.25 or 2.5 exhaust made with the exisitng muffler or a different muffler.

So what suggestion does everyone have?

I know this has been beat to death and I've search the archives a bit with no answer to my question.

Custom Exhaust or Apex-i??? What would you do?

i had custom 2.5" stainless cat-back fabricated for my RS by an exhaust tuner...

cost?

$100... that's it... $100 which included installation of my new muffler...

that's definately the cheapest route...
and i have no bends, used original hangers...
a much more free flowing exhaust!

I always went for custom made ones in my previous cars. The way I see it, as long as it's mandrel bent, and the welder is skilled enough, it will be on par with the expensive brand name exhausts. Where I live I don't have problem with rust, so I don't have to have stainless steel, and if I need to replace it with for some reason, I can go back to the shop that made it for me. Also, with custom ssytems, I was actually able to test a few different mufflers to get the sound I was after.

If you think the Apex is a bad price consider this. I went and got a quote on a 3" Stainless mandrel-bent system with an N! muffler and they quoted me "around $1000".
