Another "Looking into upgrading turbo.." Thread
I have a 07 STI and I want to upgrade my VF43. I am currently stage two, and I am NOT looking to make a ****load of power with stock internals. I'm not to worried in pricing either, and will be using this car as a DD. I wanted to hear some opinions on different turbos to run for my setup. Any help would be appreciated!

Cheap old'ish tech td06 20g and save money on that for inj, fmic, fuel pump, new stock spark plugs, e85 tune.
Or 20gXTR and all the above, or fpred/greenhta on lower boost...this would give you headroom to push it and someday upgrade the motor (arguably as risky as all others, torque is a killer, as is early rpm huge torque with smaller turbos. I recommend larger turbos and less boost for your desired hp range). I did recommend the 20g's because I knew a guy that went 100k miles and was reliable as hell on a 20g. Some argue the STi should have come with a 20g, very smooth on that 2.5 with the td05 and especially td06. |
