Here is pic with the driver side HID installed. The line looks fairly straight cut, but I'm not parked on an even surface. I'll take some better pics tonight for a better comparison.

Oh, and I haven't been flashed either...just saying.

This shows light above the cut-off, that lights overhead signs. I did not post this picture. The car seams to be about 5 feet from the wall.

Light intensity is inversely proportional to the square of the distance from the source.
At 30' there is 1/36 of the glare at 5'. Two cars approaching eachother, each going
30 mph, would close the distance, 30', in a third of a second. To see any glare they
would have to be looking to their left. They should be looking straight or slightly to the right down the road

This picture was taken 30' from a wall.

Just my 2 cents. 95% of the people on these forums are stupid impenetrable rejects who want a car like a Subaru because it's "cool" much like smoking was in the 70's/80's. The other 5% with automotive knowledge and common sense, continually try, time and time again to educate you blathering morons about what is "right" when doing DIY projects. Listen to these 5% please!!! It's actually probably less than 5% actually. From the ****ty ****ing welds that you post to your ghetto ricer HID's, listen to these people. BTW, if you've properly pulled off a real retrofit with out removing the "squirrel finder" the light you see above your cutoff is OK!!! This subtle light is intended to illuminate road signs but not to blind oncoming traffic. Most of us have REMOVED the squirrel finder while doing our real retrofits. Please do yourself a favor and do a REAL retrofit.

The light below the cut-off, is not high to the left, and not dazzling oncoming traffic.

I've just completed a retrofit on my '06 2.5i. I'd been running a PNP kit with the squirrel plate mod(bent down and painted flat black) due to time and money considerations. I will be taking pics of the output tonight and hopefully I will get to post some on a few threads. There is simply no substitute for a real retro done with projectors designed for HID capsules(bulbs).

I'm just curious, but are you having trouble locating the glare in the picture above that is "high" and "to the left"? Because there is plenty of it.

At least bend your squirrel shield down dude. That just looks like a blob of glare driving down the road.

Steve, we've had this conversation. Crazyhawk can't tell the difference between his kit and a retrofit.

I haven't missed anything at all. I love how you always reference that picture you took too. It's too dark to even use it as a basis for any kind of argument. Here it is bumped up to an appropriate brightness level. You can see the piss poor cutoff and you can also see the glare, especially on the yellow pole which is HIGH and TO THE LEFT.

This picture is overexposed. The origonal was taken through the tinted window. The light above the cut-off is at least 5 stops darker than the light below. The wall behind the yellow pole is dark above the cut-off.
Here is a picture on a dark road from outside my car.

I cant believe people complain about small glare in post #28. STOCK halogens without projectors blind you more then that. Seriously guys? This is as worse as "dont buy a bugeye the tranny will break" when theres LOTS of people that have an 02-03 still running, only the owners of those cars that failed spoke up. How many threads do you see saying "my tranny is still alive!". Same **** with HID's.

Morimoto H1 minis:

Highbeams augmented with Hella 500s-the Morimotos are bi-xenon. Bulb color temperature is 4300k:

The photos aren't the best as we are still learning how to take good nightshots but hopefully show the difference when projectors designed for HID are used.

Has anyone looked into the costs of getting the full Subaru HID system and installing it in a 2011?

I ask because I'm in the market for a 2011 WRX, but only want the limited for the HIDs. Ideally, I'd want the base model with the Subaru HID system installed.

This would be MUCH less expensive than new HID headlights from the factory by far.
