ok but this doesn't explain why you lied Trainrex "straight in the eyes" when he was talking to you on the weekend.
Was it so hard to explain it or make sure that he gets them??
And now you're saying that you're shipping wheels without caps but will send caps for free to people who didn't get them?? So how do you end up with the free caps anyway?? If you have free ones to give away why not adding them to the sets that people buy, and since you open packages to put the receipt there what's so hard about checking if the caps are there or not???
It just starts to sound more phony to me

Yes I agree it should not have been hard to get him caps. The person he talked to was not in our shop and I'm not sure why Zoeb did not contact the shop to make sure this order recieved a full set of caps.

The caps that I am offereing to everyone on nasioc who did not recieve a set with their wheels we are paying for. We purchase the center caps from Rota and this is how we are going to get everyone caps.

Are the wheels shipped direct from the Rota warehouse? Could he have checked on the caps?

Well, it would seem that trainrex is a bit pissed about the whole subject. If someones customer service boldly lied to my face, I'd be sure to visit every major subaru forum and explain my situation, in hopes that the company will take notice and either change, or experience poor profits for treating their customers improperly. The subaru community is a great place, but parts vendors are renowned for being two-bit f*ck-faces. I've heard rave reviews about suby-dudes service in the past, and it would seem that its an enthusiast organization, not a chop-shop scrounging every penny they can. I'm not trying to flame here at all, I just think it's nice to have vendors that treat people like they ought to, and it would be sad for this to screw the whole thing up.

I think a good solution would be to make it completely clear on your website that the wheels don't have center caps. Apparently you guys over at subydude looked in the box long enough to put a promotion and receipt in there, so you could make sure there are some damn caps in there as well. Also, maybe take the price you charge for the caps off of the total prices for the wheels, and let it be known. Because right now, it seems like you guys are just trying to maximize profits. While being totally understandable, its a f*cking insult to be lied to about it and to give poor customer service when a big part of your guys reputation is having good CS.

My 2 cents.

Oh, and someone was saying your website needs a bit of updating (subydude), it's showing incorrect stock or something.

Let me get this straight.

You open every wheel box, as Trainrex said, and put your fliers and whatnot in there. Is it that hard to check for center caps?

Now, you've decided to not ship wheels with center caps, even though Rota will apparently continue to do so. So you remove said caps from boxes, organize them into sets of four, and sell them for $40?

I call... bad business.

Oh, and you can say goodbye to one more customer.

Let me clarify as what you are saying is wrong. The wheels we ship out do not always include caps in the box. Yes there are sometimes caps in the boxes and there are other times when there are no caps or they are mismatched. The statement I made about the caps costing us more is when we buy just caps as replacements for the ones not included or mismatched.

I agree, thats REALLY messed up. Im ashmed to hear that Suby_dude (a great vendor which ive had no problems with before) would stoop so low as to intentionally take off center caps to make an extra 40 dollars.

1)Since SD is supposely the largest Rota dealer, should they make a deal with Rota themselves to ensure that they'd get caps? Dont blame it on Rota! its your name on the line!
2) Cant SD simply PROPERLY inform customers beforehand that the rims that they are receiving will recieve NO center caps
3) Why doesnt SD just "bite the bullet" as they seem to be doing now and just give up the spare center cap thats missing? if "90% of them have caps" that means that 10% don't. if you take ALL the center caps OFF and charge the same price you're screwing the customer. Isnt that STEALING?? im sure Rota sells center caps to SD at a very fair price. if you have to simply just add in the 10% thats missing.. omg thats $10 (at most) that SD has to pay for every 2.5 customers, not that bad if it means keeping your name clean!

Im very dissapointed in SD! I really hope you guys clean up your act quick or you'll be losing a lot of customers.

I would have no problem if they simply took some money off the price of wheels, but they don't appear to be doing that. They're keeping the wheels the same price, removing part of the "package" and selling it for a profit (pure profit, actually, all $40 goes towards profit).

if rota is screwing you over by not sending all of the wheels with center caps, than it's a problem between you an Rota, not us the customers. You either make sure that Rota ships them as a complete set or make them lower the price for incomplete packages. Than you'll post on your website that none of the wheels will have center caps to start with and you need to order them seperately for that damn $40. But base price of the wheels needs to be $40 cheaper. Problem solved. You can ship out wheels with complete sets for let's say $600 and when you get ones with misplaced caps, you order additional set of caps from Rota and charge for wheels $560 + $40 for caps. Easy as that.

Update: Subydude himself called me from Sema. I spent about 20 minutes on the phone with him discussing the problem. He took total responsibility for the center cap decision. He is also very upset with his employee lying to the customers. He promised this type of incident won't happen again, to anyone .

Hey,

Thank you for all the suggestions as your opinions mean the most to us. For the last week we tried this new method and our prices on this forum have surely reflected the change in caps with the orders. We have not updated the site yet with new prices but on all of our quotes to nasioc members through PM or on our specials in the for sale thread you can see the change in price. After all the support issues we thought this would be the way to go and after seeing a response from you guys we know this is not the correct step to make. Everyone knows that our company wants to provide the best support out there and this is why I like working at subydude because we are all enthusiasts. This is why we made the offer to ship out caps to those that did not recieve any in the last week or in the past that recieved an incomplete set or mismatched set. And from now we will make changes with the caps and be sure to get a correct set in every box.

hi guys. subydude here (joseph)

i want to acknowledge that we F'd up here.

i would like to sugar coat it, but the fact is that one of our employees lied to a customer. for this, i am shamed. it was the last thing i thought about last night and the first thing on my mind this morning, and it continued to disturb me. I take full responsibility for it, because I did not properly address the issue internally.

as dan above has mentioned, anyone w/ cap issue, please, email/call us.

i want to apologize to the entire community and specially to andrew.

WE are to blame here... not rota... not their us distributor... and i promise we will fix it.

Joseph,
Thank you for calling me, and taking responsibility for the problem. Normally vendors pass the buck to their employees. You've earned my respect for that.

Subydude rules! I ordered some ATE brake fluid from him in the spring and I hadn't recieved it a week or so...I called and it hadn't shipped so they sent it out one day express for free. Then it ended up at my friend's house (we did some work at his house a few months before, so I just got my parts shipped there for that, his address was still listed as mine) across the state. He then paid for shipping from his house to mine If I'm looking for parts, I check out Subydude first to see if they ahve what I need. I'll probably make a purchase from them in the near future even.

Thumbs up What is the big deal here, people?

I ordered some wheels from Subydude, I PM'ed him first, and I specifically asked about the caps. The pictures don't show caps on the Tarmac II's, and I wasn't sure if I needed to order them separately, *which I gladly would have* if I needed to.

I got the "they should come with caps" response, and because there was a special sale at the time I was supposed to get some lug nuts and a t-shirt, too.

I unboxed them and I got everything but the caps.

Was I pissed? Not really. I know, **** happens. You're dealing with humans, and even when they try hard to do things right, **** happens.

I PM'ed him again and I told him that I unboxed the wheels and there were no caps. He apologized and said he'd get them right out... And he did!

A day or two later, I had the caps Priority Mail!

I'm sorry other people have had it happen, but I give suby_dude my endorsement, I believe he is a stand-up guy and he made the deal right for me, and even though that's not as good as getting the caps with the original shipment, that's still good customer service and no reason to avoid doing business with them.

Just placed an order for some rota wheels and got a ridiculous amount of feedback about my order. Very cool.

Dan gave me good help, sending me different pictures of each wheel on different cars to help me make up my mind, and he gave me a great price too. If I were the big cheese over at Suby Dude HQ, I would give Dan a 6-figure raise.

So what's the deal now. Is subydude lowering the prices on the wheels w/o caps and charge extra for them OR will all wheels incluce them now.
I'm looking for some SDR's, has the price on the website been updated?
