A Ragone Chart will tell you how much of the literature on these batteries is puffery.

actually....there are seveal options in these small lithium based batteries.....and NO...they DO work and ARE so light that you wouldnt believe it.....
i have researched these kinds of batteries for a while now, and they are quite interesting.....a lithium-iron style seems to be quite promising a 3 pound li-fe battery can be far more powerful than the 14ish pound PC680 size agm battery these seem to be the next step in battery evolution,...and their price is coming down my next battery will be one of these 3 pound li-fe batteries |

local time attack guy has run the battery. No problems starting in Canadian cold winters. However he ended up draining it/killing it somehow (didnt use it and somehow had something drawing current from it by accident) Needless to say it was junk after his mistake, but otherwise they seem to work well! Price wise... is a 10 pound deka battery for $100 that much worse than a $350 3 pound lithium battery? The cost effectiveness of that several pounds for hundreds of dollars seems like an expensive weight reduction measure, especially since batteries do not last forever and the long term usage of these batteries is yet to be discovered for daily drivers. I might try it out if the prices continue to drop and their compact size makes it more convenient to mount it behind the glove box, under the footwell etc instead of under the passenger seat |

http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-a-utility-function.htm My utility for one of these things is just about zero, but I only do repair and maintenance. There may be people here who would spend a kilobuck for whatever advantage they believe this thing gives them. |

I found the one I will be buying next on Amazon for $189 within the last week(it WAS $239 last time I searched it) which is about 2x the cost of the Magna Powersports agm battery that i now have under my passengers seat.....the weight savings of the lithium battery over the Magna Powersports battery is ~10 pounds and the specs of the lithium battery are a bit better and maybe the poster, ABOVE, should stay out of these kinds of threads if he is only interested in routine maintenance |

http://www.tougetuning.com/ up in Canada sells Antigravity batteries. They have good reviews on the Toronto boards as daily driver batteries as well.
They have a 10% discount with the code adventure. Maybe we could get a group buy in Last edited by nashelton; 10-31-2013 at 09:32 AM. |

Having gone through 2 Antigravity batteries I would not recommend them.
1st one was a 24 cell. It started smoking at idle. Once it was off it blew up, literally. This was blamed on "overcharging" causing thermal runaway. Not sure how that happens at idle. After throwing a fit about buying a new one for 75% off, they sent a 20 cell to use. After about a month and a half this one is toast too. I would not recommend using on for a Daily Driver; only for a dedicated track or drag car where you plug it in to start it and take it out after. Car runs fine with a cheap 20 amp hour Shuriken AGM battery in it. Having spent over $400 on the 24 cell and terminals, and $140 on the cheap AGM + terminals, go with the AGM.
