Default Whats the.....

Whats the average life of a cadilitic converter ? And if it needs to be replaced will it make the car bog down while trying to accelerate ? I'm not getting any codes. I know, I need a clutch but don't think that would case the car to bog down going down the road.

a catalytic converter will last a decade or so, or untill you get a bad tune or bag gas and blow a hole in it. It will not cause the car to bog down unles it becomes blocked. If it was blocked you'd notice other things like...lower than regular amount of exhaust coming out the tailpipe.

Your car would most likely throw a code if the cats were bad. It has an 02 sensor that is only there to make sure the cats are working.

If I just take off it starts to do it,then goes away when i give it more gas. It also does it when I'm going along. I don't notice any sputtering or anything. I give it more gas and it clears up.
