Default blown turbo..posible engine damage?

My VF30 has had a good amount of shaft play, yesterday I was driving to my buddies house and I believe the turbo finally gave out. I only seem to stay in vacuum and does not hold any boost. the engine seemed to go into limp mode only revving to about 3k and shuttered like i was hitting fuel cut. I drove it home (about 3 miles) I get very little white smoke and the car seems to have a hard idle and sometimes turns off.

any suggestions? Im gonna try to do a compression check.

Possible you got some contamination on your MAF when the turbo let go. Pull the sensor itself and make sure there isn't anything on it.

My guess would be the MAF is fine, and the turbo is restricting your intake, and possibly exhaust, so much that your engine is having some big problems running right. Solution, put a new turbo on it. If you can't, then don't run the car until you can.

Take pics?

Most likely, the engine just burned whatever oil made it through your intercooler, if any made it that far. If you do find a ton of oil in there, I'd suggest pulling your intercooler off and draining it.

My 1985 GL Turbo hydrolocked itself on oil. I don't know how, but it did. The turbo was fine apparently, so it had to have been something else... And it happened on a dry day, so it wasn't water. Coolant was fine, so that wasn't it either. Oh well, that car was a nightmare.

You should be good then. I'd take a peek in there if you have a hose clamp and silicone adapter that's easy to remove without pulling your entire bumper just to check for excess residue or a puddle anyway.
