2011: What do I need to install 20mm wheel spacers?
Was curious as to what I need for a proper install of 20mm hubcentric wheel spacers.

^lol.
op, there are two kinds of spacers. ones with new studs built in, and ones that require you to tap out your current studs and put in extended ones. I suggest you contact a reputable vendor here and tell them what you want to do - they will have different kits (ichiba, h&r etc). just be aware that your hub bore is 56.1, you want hub centric. |

another thing to note, the style of spacer that has built in studs - your original studs will poke through them a little bit. your wheel style needs to be able to accommodate this

with studs extending? that is confusing. do you have type A: replacement extended studs, or type B: new studs are attached to the spacer?
the lug style will not matter. they will not give you additional turns onto the stud. i don't recall the exact amount but I believe you need to be able to make eight full turns on a lug in order for it to bite down hard enough and be considered safe. |

Bolt a spacer on Replace wheel to see if it clears oem studs .... 20mm spacer did not work with my 04 BBS wheels, the oem studs still extend past the spacer body by about 4mm. The back of the wheel did not have any recessed areas for the studs to go in...(yours may?)....had to go to 25mm. |

They should fit. I have a set of 25mm spacers and the existing studs didn't extend past the spacers face. The stock 2011 wheels (assuming you have a WRX) have a small cavity in that area so I'm guessing the 20mm will fit no problem.
Also, fill out your profile with your car info or post it in the thread. It will help people to answer your questions. |

The wheels are pretty flush with the fenders with the 25mm spacers. With stock suspension I rub slightly in the rear, but only over large bumps or when the suspension is compressed quickly. Will be rolling the rears soon.
These are the only pics I have, will try to get some better ones if you'd like. BTW, I'll be selling these spacers soon since i just bought some new rims. |
