Default 04 WRX breaking up. Data log included

I did some logging on my buddies 04 WRX because it was breaking up. We checked grounds. He is stage2 minus tuning. But he seems to be having some problems. I know he is missing a part of the BCS, the restrictor pill is missing. But it still shouldn't break up bad because of it. It looks as if the front O2 sensor isn't reading at all.

^ location for log.

Thanks for looking,
Josh

can you use something else to upload the log with. I'm not really trying to give up my card number and billing address to look at a log.

This should probably be in the engine management & tunning section but a good rule of thumb is to fix the code that shows up first.

Also stage 2 mods with no type of re flash or tune of any sort is a very bad idea. Since it seems like you have a tractrix cable find a map offline that works for your friends car.

what exactly is your friends car doing breaking up as in???

and a list of his mods would be awesome.

stage 2 without a tune isnt really stage 2. just a turbo back exhaust.

I don't need your remarks that have nothing to do with fixing my problem.

It had the turboback on it before this started happening.

Breaking up is not really a technical term, maybe you could give us a little more detail

First things first.

1. Fix the things that you know are broken or missing. It looks like the car is only hitting spring pressure (~9 psi).
2. Get at least some sort of tune for the mods that are on the car. You need a tune with a turboback on an 04. Don't believe me? Take a look at the injector duty cycles. Something is seriously wrong if you're hitting 99% IDC with less than 10 psi. What gear was the pull done in?

I can't help you with the CELs, but I'm sure you could do some more research on here to help diagnose those problems.

After that, see how the car drives. Log it and post it here.

I'm pretty sure it's absolute pressure. Otherwise, the car would be hitting 14.8 psi @ 1900 RPM .

He wants to get it tuned, but I hate to say it, he doesn't really listen when I tell him stuff like that. I mean he's a good guy but.. sometimes he just needs to take care of some of the dumb stuff.

Pull was done in 2nd gear because we were in the city.

Correct.

That is the absolute manifold pressure which is atmospheric pressure + (vacuum which is negative, or positive boost)

id say there is a short to the heating wire from the ecu to the 02 sensors i had the same problem on my old car or it could just need to be tuned because the sensors dont know what to do with the flow and fuel mixture in the exhaust

P0031- that means your front 02 sensor needs to be replaced thats an A/F sensor ur cars gonna run like crap without it.

P0037- is because your car is cattless thats from you rear 02 sensor

FIX THESE
front 02 sensor
rear 02 sensor you can tune out Hence GET TUNED
get a damn restrictor pill in the car
replace upipe.

I bet your car runs much much better after that is all done

Replaced his uppipe, and we road dyno'd it and it made 211whp 185wtq... don't know how accurate it is, but I plugged everything in correctly, I would do a minor tune but ecutek easy ecu doesn't work with the 04 ECU.

anyone have a tactrix cable for sale?

oh yeah its not breaking up anymore either... IDCs went up to 125% though :wtf:

poor subaru. it really needs a professional tune, and the other issues besides the UP should be take care of. these cars arent just toys that dont have to be taken care of. and i understand its not your car, so none of these comments are directed towards you

I can take care of a basic tune to just get it running right, that's why I need a tactrix cable.

I feel bad for it... but I think I've got him going in the right direction.
