You can also call the utility company and ask for an "average monthly bill for the last 12 months". Around here (in America's Outback), you just need to give them the address. Simple and effective.

Yep, my favorite. Actually, the local butcher shop makes some great slim jims. (beef, not bison).

terrible pic, but it is late and the gnex takes ****ty pics even during the day:

I was looking at Tacomas, but I couldn't pass up the deal on this. 2012 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab Pro-4X. damn thing even has leather seats, seat warmers, a sunroof, etc. All for 4k less than I would have spent on a Tacoma. The rofling chewbacca makes more sense in a truck anyways. my garage was only VQ-less for 15 months.

and hill descent control!

been a while since I've gotten anything dirty on purpose. (since I traded my 98 wrangler in a WRX in 2001, which lead me to this god forsaken place)

once the cosmoline is burned off (thing had 4.8 miles on it when i picked it up) I'm going to go wheel it in this old quarry by my house and see what it can do.

Life tire alignment ftw!

This arrived in the mail today. First time trying out a foil shaver. Works perfect. Shaved my face and my head.

My landlord probably will do no such thing, although it's a nice thought. I will use this as a bargaining chip when it comes down to negotiating how much of the security deposit my wife and I will get back when we move out (in just over a year).

The landlord may do it as a good will gesture, but for this type of "repair", I don't think you can force them to eat the fees.

The tenant is improving his property. He should be willing to cover the costs in this situation. He's really the biggest beneficiary since it's free labor too.
I did ask the landlord before moving in, and was told "not bad, around $100/month."

That clearly was either from the days of 25 cent/gallon heating oil or was pure BS.

Anyway, I'm done with the attic insulation project now. Took 19 rolls of R30 15" x 25' insulation. At $17 a pop with taxes that's $323. Given the trend in heating bills I think my investment will pay off, and if not I've at least done the right thing.

Wow. I do stuff around our rental house too, but I expect to be here for several more years to reap the benefits. Really surprised that you dropped that kind of coin when you're only expecting to be there for one more winter.
