Question APS Cold Air Intake System - Where to get one?

<IMG SRC="http://www.airpowersystems.com.au/wrx/airfilter_installed.jpg" border=0>

http://www.airpowersystems.com.au/wrx/airfilter.htm

Anybody know where I can find buy one of these? If we can get a group buy who's interested?

I wrote them a message about fitment on our cars, but I'm pretty sure it's going to be a direct swap. Only thing I'm not sure about is it it will mate directly back up with the MAF short pipe.

considering that the airbox and MAF placement on the WRX is different from the RS I doubt you could simply bolt it on. Maybe if you built another elbow for it to connect to our intake tracts

Yep... the application would be different for mine regardless... darn turbo intake piping!

I just want to know how to buy one... I'll call if I have to, but I just wasn't sure if anyone knew of anybody who carried them.

ohh ohh!!! as a holdyouover.... what if you were to take that setup, and get 2 of Kartboy's MAF adapters? Mount one to the plate on that intake, then one to the MAF, and run 3" silicone subing between the 2?? Is the WRX's MAF size the same as the 99/98s? I might do this if anyone knows?

Will the piping fit on a 1.8L throttle body?

Just keeping you posted:

This was the reply I got back from them... I'm just waiting to hear back from him.

Hello Nick,

Thank you for your email and interest in APS products.

The high flow air intake bolts directly up to the air mass meter. I'm
not sure which bolt pattern and spacing yours will be. As for fitting
into the fender, I'm sure that's all the same with US spec vehicles.

We will be appointing dealers throughout the US shortly though I haven't
identified any Subaru tuning specialists in your area. Can you suggest
anyone?

Thanks Nick

I know I will have to custom make the attachment to my intake to fit this unit, but what I want to know is will this unit fit inside the RS fender? I believe that the 99RS has the exact same fender access points as the WRXs of the same model year. If you perhaps have any pictures or any measurements that I could to check for size would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks for the update Nick!

I remember bringing up the idea of putting a filter in the well like that, and someone had brought up how much of a pain it might be to remove the filter to clean it? Hmmm....

Ive got mine in the fender, true it is harder to service, but it kept more low end than a filter in the normal location like the JC sprots intake, ect. I tested this informaly with some 40-70 testing.

I am waiting to hear from them - I requested to be a dealer for these, to apply to all years of intakes if possible. Hopefully I can test one soon...
