I'm coming from a 2.2L impreza, so the new Impreza is more powerful to me. I was pleasantly surprised when I test drove it. However, I test drove a WRX right after the Impreza, and was blown away by the power of the WRX. First time I drove a turbo car before. I actually felt that the WRX would be overkill for what I need a car for, so the Impreza seems like a good fit.

yeah, it's all relative. if you are used to cars with a lot more low end torque or faster acceleration, i could imagine the impreza would be disappointing.

i'm coming from a 2000Honda civic which nominally, with a 5spd, has a faster 0-60 time, but that was only when revved into it's vtec range of 5000+ rpm. the impreza, relative to the civic, has as good or better low rpm torque, so it feels powerful enough to me...which is a pleasant surprise considering it's an automatic.

of course, i should also note i thought the latest generation Honda Civic and Hyundai Elantra had enough power for my needs. none of them are "fast cars" in the grand scheme of things, but enough for my needs.

Interesting wheels. If you had a Limited non-Sport with the chrome fog surrounds and door handles that would look so sick! Your car looks good, otherwise. I love Ice Silver over the out-going Spark Silver.

Canada has HIDs, but they're not projectors. You might as well go aftermarket (unless they're adjustable HIDs, then you're screwed).

Edit: Just went to Subaru Canada's website to check the manual: Yes, the HIDs are adjustable...

SCREW YOU, CANADA!!!!

I thought about this when I realized the 2008 Forester Sports XT could be had with all-weather and adjustable HIDs... in Canada.

I stopped being mad at Subaru a long time ago. I'm mad at Americans for being too cheap to want such niceties transferred over here (Legacy wagons with turbo, blah blah blah you know the rest).

+1 AGREED

We need more pix in here in general. Maybe I'll take some with my real camera. Although I'm sure people are getting sick of Dark Grey Metallic hatchbacks.

Never!

but yes, it would be nice to see some pictures in the picture thread...i haven't helped the cause since mine is pretty generic except for the side body moldings/trim...

I will see what I can dig up, in the meantime here is an old autocross video of my '05 STi in motion. Bad launch (toasted my clutch!) but got a fast time.

I snapped some pictures just before it got dark today.

About a week ago i put some amber foglight overlays on. Here is a picture of the lights off:

Lights on:

I also got the Subaru chrome license plate frame. I like it because it has standoffs that prevent the plate/frame from rubbing on the paint.

No, I haven't used them yet. The cross bars were already installed when I picked up the car.

I love how these things look, I would absolutely buy that! I have both a WRX and a STi and I am thinking about replacing the WRX in the next year or so. I was going to get a Forrester or possibly a truck but this may change my mind.
