Default Wierd problem with WRX swap?

Hey I've just about got my WRX swap done, just trying to work out some bugs.

Was having an overheating problem, but I think I've got it fixed. Pretty sure it was due to air pockets still in the cooling system.

Having a problem though with starting the car when it's warmed up. It will turn over but won't start. After it cools down it will start up again.

This is an 02 WRX engine in a 94 1.8l Impreza L.

sounds like the ECM thinks the engine is
overheating. or it could be purely electrical.

I had a similar problem in a 91 camaro, come to
find out it was the anti-theft system going haywire.

Does it throw a CEL light? some don't even throw CEL
lights, your computer should know, so if you feel so
inclined and your local parts store has loaner OBD2 scantools,
borrow one.

Gack! didn't see the "turn over" part

you've got something heating up and not firing, if you have an
anti-theft system, some are designed to disable the fuel
injectors to prevent any kind of start. it could be
everything from distribuitor getting too hot and grounding out,
to vapor lock.

Yea, did the swap myself. May try to get ahold of a scanner. I didn't even bother hooking up the CEL light because I knew it would throw one since I haven't hooked up fuel evap stuff yet.

If the engine does overheat will the ECU cut it off?

I did the wiring myself, I live in Alaska and nobody does the swap up here. I used the FSM's for both cars. I pretty much used all of the WRX's engine harness and wired it into the L's system. Basically all I spliced into from the L's system is power and instrumets.

is it that simple? how long did it take? i was paying someone to do this swap for me and after 3 weeks of them not getting anything done because of "wiring complications" i ended the deal. and now i'm planning to do it myself.

It was pretty complicated because I had to tear apart the WRX's wiring and rebuild what I needed. Once it was done though, all I had to splice into was the power, instruments, and the radiator fans. I didn't use A/C, but that would be another thing I would have had to splice into.
