I intentionally fill up at night when there is less people at the pumps just to avoid questions about my car. I'm in the habit of checking the oil level every fill-up and I hate getting questions about my car because I have yet to meet someone intelligent at a gas station.

I should have rethought the cherry blossom red FMIC piping >_>

The only time someone has came up to me it was a little old lady. She asked what color is that car? I replied it's called sonic yellow. She says it's very beautiful, smiled and walked away. I thought it was kinda cool.

Nope, I rarely see people maintaining their vehicles.

I see so many people broken down on the Interstate. When asked what happened. I dont know...the little red oil light thingy was on and it just stopped.
or

The fuel light came on this morning on the way to work and I thought I could make it home.

WTF. Are people that stupid that they cant get off an exit to refuel.

Ahhh but if you tell someone just get off the Interstate and get fuel........ Responce would be I dont know that way.

MEET THE STUPIDS.

Now that I have my Sti it's got worse I feel. In Florida their are NASCAR rednecks everywhere. One time In the drive through guy asked what size v8 you got in that thing. And get asked all the time dose it have a turbo. And everyone's favorite. Do a burn out!

Hahaha so true.

Been approached a few times. Once an old retired couple was just starting at my car as I was walking back to it. The guy asked what kind of car it was, I said subaru, he said nice! Love those, and then just walked away. Made my day.
Another time I was unloading groceries and this cute asian girl smiled and said she really liked my car. Was caught off guard so I could only respond with "thanks"

I had an older guy in a brand new Porsche Cayenne Turbo S tell me my car was hot and he loved it at a gas station once.

I bought a BRZ 3 weeks ago and every single time I stop to get gas I get asked ? about the car. Kinda cool. I also get lots of thumbs up out on the hey. I thought my WRX was better looking but I guess BRZ being so new not many people see em do they let you know they like it.

Believe it or not, I've had my 2012 STI Limited since June and I've only been approached once at the gas station with the 50 questions routine.

Most of the a$$hats I encounter are on the road, like the other day when this this "baller" started tailgating me & reving the motor on his later model Honda Civic SI (the one that kinda looks like a VW Golf) for a couple miles while I was coming back from Lowes...at night in the pouring rain.

He's lucky I didn't feel like getting wet.

I do 95% of my driving in a 2002 Saturn. It burns a quart of oil every 1200 miles (by design, oddly enough). You better believe I'm checking my oil on every fill up. I do it when I fill up the WRX now too. It's become a habit.

If there's ever a situation where I like to adhere to the speed limit exactly rather than the typical 5-10 over, this is it. Or just pull over and let the kiddie pass

Seriously I fear this crap will be the worst part of WRX ownership. While I'm driving alone I'll surely play with it on back country roads and such, but when performing A-B duty the other 98% of the time, my kids and wife will be in the car with me when these clowns decide to do what they do. Guess I'll have to throw in a Baby on Board sign as jerk repellant.

I've had one guy in an STi at Circle K who was standing in line behind me and was like "why'd you lower your car, thats retarded. Subarus are rally cars meant to jump **** and you can't even get over a speedbump." I doubt the guy would rally his 40k car.

I feel like if I were to open my hood at the "service station", there would be people honking at me to free up the pump and move. -_-

I always seem to have teenagers comment on my car while pumping gas. They usually ask some strange question like "is that the stock exhaust?" or "is that an sti?"

Yeah...sunshine or rain, winter or summer I make sure I check it every fill-up and before autocross or rallycross events. My friend who is helping me with my build drilled it into my head the importance of it - said if I blew my car up because of lack of oil then it's on me and he wouldn't ever help me with my mods ever again. You never know when there might be a problem, and extra oil consumption can be the first indicator of something that needs attention.

I always carry at least a gallon of extra oil in the trunk, which actually proved handy when I lost most (if not all) of my oil through the dipstick tube (stuck PCV valve) in my RS 120 miles away from home when it was -20F outside last winter (I live in Alaska, service stations are few and far in between and cellphone service is non existent outside the cities). Luckily, I had the extra oil and was able to pour it in, ziptied the dipstick into place, and made it home just fine no harm no foul.

Here's the picture:

I love when the loud fart cans pull in, see me filling up and start backing in like their clutch is a Stage 67 race clutch that requires lots of throttle modulation to engage:

vroom-VROOM!-VROOM!-vroom-VROOM!-vrum-vrum-VRROOOM!-vroom-VROOM!-VROOM!-vroom

All this racket to back up 5 feet!

For some reason my wrb attracts older women too! They always say its the prettiest blue they've seen on a car and ask what kinda car it is. Id talk to a random older person about my car before I talked to some of the kids around here any day

I've driven all sorts of performance cars to fill up and somehow there is ALWAYS someone at the station whose "friend has one" and it always manages to be just slightly better than whatever I'm driving. I makes me want a TTG just so I can just tell them to **** off.

Try living in the middle of Texas. I had a service manager at a nissan dealership ask me what country made subarus...

Every time I go back to visit Seattle, I have little subiegasms.

When I was moving, I trailered my car behind the moving truck and I had to make a stop in Oregon where I couldn't pump my own gas. So I wait for the tenant to come over and he asks about my car on the trailer...

Tenant: Nice car, that thing have a turbo?
Me: Yeah, it has some other work done too.
Tenant: That's cool, how much boost?
Me: About 19lbs. (at this point I thought he knew what he was talking about)
Tenant: Oh that's cool, I smoked one of those in my car once.
Me: Oh, cool. What do you drive?
Tenant: A foxbody Mustang.
Me: Nice, those can be really quick.
Tenant: Yeah, the one I raced had 3 turbos and was running no boost.
Me: Um cool, thanks for the gas, later.

I was so dumbfounded I had trouble finding words.
