In my opinion no there is no real intern job for tuner experience. Most of the shops out there that hired the help is exactly what it is.

I do know of corporate places like Toyota and KIA, but even if you get an internship, they'll either keep you in the office doing drafts for the MEs or ship you off to one of the plants.
