awesome build man! cant wait to see the finished project. IMO, that olive green is the best color to paint a bugeye.

Not a HUGE update, but an update none the less.

Test fitting of the s13 rear subframe was quite a let down. The upper control arms were almost directly below the frame rails. Seeing how I don't have the resources (or desire ) to back-half the car, that plan got the big red X. This also dashes my hopes for rear wheel fitment as that extra 1.5 inches on either side would have allowed me to run wider/lower offset wheels with ease. I'll be making my own overfenders out back, and wasn't planning on going wider than 20-25mm, but now it looks like I'll be going 40-45mm due to not having that extra room.

So it's back to the STI subframe and trying to figure out how I can make this work without custom axles...that will still break. We took some measurements and it looks like with some (extensive) machine work, we may be on to something. STI knuckles + 240sx hubs is the new game plan. This will allow me to use factory 240sx axles that are already pretty stout! Hopefully this weekend will show some progress.

Since this IS the Gallery, I guess I have to post a couple pictures. I don't have any suspension and these tires will NOT be used. Just kind of taken to show how big these suckers are

And the bread winner......

This has to be one of my favorite bugeyes. I love the color, I love the stance and now this crazy build. Keep up the good work. Is this professionally sprayed?

Depends on your definition of professional haha

I went to school for automotive restoration and painting for a couple years, been doing it on the side since 2005

But it's PPG that I shot out of a Sata back in mid 2006. None of that rattle can garbage that others have since been doing their flat green cars with.

Nice well it looks awesome. Haha I've definitely rattle canned my old forester twice, once two toned green/black and then all black. Turned out better then you'd expect for a rattle can job. It's all in the prep and patience, really wasn't that blotchy, the hood and roof were tough to get to look perfect. I'd love to have my STi painted this color, I've always loved the flat green look so sexy and the flat finish makes the body lines look so much more aggressive.

Talk about life getting in the way!!

Three month moving process and a job change ( longer commute with same pay ). Biggest thing holding me up now from getting this on the road is getting an electrician to come out and wire me up with 220 so I can start welding.....hopefully by the weekend I'll be working on the crossmember and trans mount. May have figured out a solution for the diff and axles too...we'll see.

I ended up picking up a set of Stance GR+ Coilovers and threw those in. Seem to be decently made? I'm not building this car to be the best handling thing on the track, and I understand that by putting it on its nuts there will be some draw backs. Don't really care, it needs to be low as siht Half style/half gofast/half RAD. Also put some 245/40s on the rear wheels, but I'm just not satisfied. Will be trying a 245/35 to lose a little height.

The wheel arches were keeping me from going as low as I want.......

So I cut them out.

Still not quite where I want it, so more is gonna have to go.

And yes, I'm COMPLETELY aware that this is taking forever

bawls! lol... I took the cutoff wheel to the side of mine last week for the flare install.

What are you doing for the fronts? Are you tubbing the front wheel wells..? or cutting/bashing things out of the way?

It's nerve racking huh!? I'm not sure about the front yet, I'm going to widen the fenders 30mm or so though. Plus I have to run spacers to clear the brakes so that puts my offset at +2
