ASK ABOUT NEW RCE
SWAY BARS FOR STI

Default GD STi Bilstein Fixed Perch Struts - Now Taking Preorders!

As many of you may know, we offer a fixed perch front strut/rear shock option for the GR chassis STI and GH chassis WRX, made by Bilstein. We also have a Legacy GT application on the way. After the success of these applications, and the fact that there is a huge hole in the market for GD fixed perch struts (particularly 05-07 STi models), we are working on a Bilstein GD fixed perch option.

These will be inverted monotube dampers with gas pressure. They use OEM quality spring perches and clevis tabs, along with the usual Bilstein build quality. The valving will be designed to support our RCE Yellow or Black springs.

Now, here's the kicker. Because the GD is an aging chassis, we really don't know how much demand there is for these. And because we have to commit to at least 100 sets, we want to make sure that there actually is significant demand to move the project forward. Assuming we see that kind of demand, it should take around 8 months before delivery. So, if you are interested in preordering a set, please give us a call. We are asking for a $100 deposit to show commitment.

There has long been a need for a good GD fixed perch option, and we are in a unique position to make this happen. Now it's up to you to show us your interest!

Does the GD version Bilsteins gain any bump travel over stock struts? Or is it the valving that would help a GD stay off the bump stops with lowering springs?

Very interested!

Gas pressure , spring rate of RCE Yellows or Blacks. No extra travel over stock.

I would be interested in a 05-07 STi set, i've been kicking the idea of getting re-valved stockers but these sound great

I uploaded a copy of the preorder form from RCE.

http://www.sendspace.com/file/e5p1tv

Fill out all the information in each field. Save it and email it back to [email protected]

I already sent in my deposit. I think the quota is 100 preorders before they can start the project.

I don't think they are doing it for 04 STi. From the previous discussion thread, he stated the market for that car might be too small.

Since the 04 STi is the same fitment as 02-07 WRX, there is a much larger market for 5x100 GD than 5x114 GD.

The issue we are finding is that there are already several options for the 5x100 crowd (mainly D-specs and Konis) but no good options out there for 5x114.3. However, if we genuinely see enough interest we are open to doing a 5x100 version. But if we don't see the preorders coming in, we have no way of knowing so we need all of you to take action!

We decided against this due to a lack or actual interest. Meaning pre-orders.

I thought the d-specs have been pretty tough to get lately? I for one would love a set for my 5x100 rs. Why don't you try to gauge interest for that crowd instead of writing it off.

Unfortunately couldn't get enough interest on IWSTi. I'm one of the folks who missed out on the Ohlins option.
