Lightbulb Warning to those who are wanting to install WRX seats in 2.5RS!

Just wanted to let you all know of a few things here. Number one, you have to transfer over your 2.5 RS seatbelt buckles. The seat belts in the 2.5 will not latch into the WRX seatbelts although the WRX seatbelts will work fine with 2.5 RS buckles. Essentially backwards compatible yes but not forward compatible.
Number two, the WRX seats sit much higher than the stock 2.5RS seats so you tall guys who autocross/road race may want to reconsider. Lastly, and this goes without saying but I figured I may as well point it out. Use the WRX plastic bolt covers not the 2.5 RS ones. My friend is now sporting WRX seats. I figure that saved me the trouble of storing them.

Does the height-adjustability feature do anything to help out?

Yes the height feature makes it a great mod for trolls and midgets. It just makes the seat even higher. My friend Mike got them (he came with me to one of the Murray's meets). As I said, it saved me the trouble of storing them. He just has to give them back when my Sti gets here.

Question

I assume you mean these were installed into a pre-2002 model RS, right?

Definately do NOT get WRX seats Julian. Yes the height adjustment is great for midgets but not very useful for anyone else.

God, so you're saying the height adjustment only makes them higher...that at full-low they are still significantly higher? I see. That's unfortunate...as my scalp already brushes the top of the (lowered lip) roof. Was looking forward to good seats for cheap. Boo...

If I may add to the discussion.... I just installed a set of brand new WRX seats in my 2000 RS yesterday - they fit perfectly and I have nothing bad to say about the additional height. If it matters, I am 6'5" and weigh 220. Thay feel so much nicher than the stock mush buckets.
Now, the driver's seat does weigh about 6,000 pounds more than the original...

I weight 220 and 5'11" and had no troubles in the seats.

I am selling my RS and selling the seats for $1,200 the fronts and $900 the STi rear fabrics. They were new and were in my car two weeks untill I got the WRX and decided to part out the car.

Prices are without shipping!
