Impreza WRX STi 16" rims on a sti

I was wondering if 16" wheels would fit over the front brakes and rotors. I'm trying to fit some offroad tires on my 04 sti.

Thanx, Jason

No production 16" rims have been fitted successfully over the 5x100 gold STi Brembos to my knowledge. I've been tracking this daily for over 2 years now.

Let us know if you find something or get something custom done up because there are many interested people.

my "stuck-on" wheel weight barely clears the caliper on my OEM STi wheels. I would seriously doubt it's possibility

Replace the brembos with something smaller and then you can fit them.

Rally wheels. That's what you need. They're made in 16" to clear. Check the OZ or Speedline webpages, or contact a rally shop to see if they can source you some new/used ones.

Thanx for the info, it looks like I'm going to go with a smaller rotor, maybe a wrx size and upgade the rotor with a Stoptech slotted rotor. I will just have to swop back and forth.

Get the old FHI 4-pots and run 15inch rally wheels.

Custom made rally wheels?

Which 16" rims specifically have you or anyone fitted that will clear? Don't forget that there are rims out there that say they will clear large Brembo 4 pots but then quote the Brembo GT calipers (which are smaller than the OEM NADM STi gold Brembos).

They need to clear the brakes and stay clear of the fenders on GD's at road going ride heights.

Some of us have other problems like using the NADM gold STi Brembos on GC bodies so fender space is limited.

Billy, you mentioned you hadn't seen any fit over the 5x100 pattern. I assume this applies to 05's 5x114.3 as well?
Thanks

Just FYI, Subaru sells the Spec C Group N in two specifications, the Tarmac (with big brembos) and the Gravel (with the ol' 4/2 pots subaru brakes).

I think PatR said the Forester XT 16" wheels just clear the rear brakes on the 04 STi. Definitely not the fronts!!!!

So, 4 pots at the front and Forester XT wheels might work out... but what tires would you use?

I dunno, your brake bias would most likely be out of whack with that sort of setup. Best to just go the whole hog and do the Gravel Group N setup of the Subaru 4/2 setup and use the standard 15" gravel wheels.

Otherwise, STi owners are just using 17" snow tires or an open tread M/S like the KDWS. Advantage of the KDWS is the much stiffer sidewall compared to any snowtire, which allows you to run a bit less tire pressure compared to a snowtire to prevent tire roll off.

I'd imagine that the Prodrive WRC Impreza's Alcons are larger than the Brembo golds, and they still have 16" gravel/snow wheels to clear....

Look up OZ or Speedline, they manufacture the wheels that Prodrive rebadges.
Volk too.

WRC gravel/snow brakes are smaller in diameter and use a more compact caliper than the STI Brembos.

Sorry man, I've no clue.

Are the 05 NADM STi front calipers the same size, physically speaking, as the 04 NADM STi front calipers?
Are their OE rotors any different other than the bolt diameter?
