All of my attempts to pass secretly into the new year were shattered. I was woken up to flashing lights and people in my bedroom. I had no idea where I was or who they were.....

I wish I could say that this was the beginning of some sort of wild and cravy adventure.... but alas it is not..

I spent all of the holidays trying not to cough to death. I am sick.. viral broncitus or some garbage..

I think so... kinda sucks if you were using it to host pics, plus there was some good info there.

yawn..... that is what I have to say about that.

I finally sold the rear bumper/spats and get to order some side skirts. Other than stock, does anyone have a set of side skirts they like? I think the zero sports are good. or if anyone knows where I can get a set of replica Trial skirts that would be best.

Default quick question

In light of my luck with having oil changes performed at a dealership, I was going to do it myself. I have a question regarding this "crush washer." Risking sounding like a nuby, I'm not familiar with this type of device. When I think of anything like that in an oil change I think of the gasket. So is there something besides the gasket that I missed when I worked on my 2.5? I'm going to change the oil in the WRX and wanted to make sure I didn't need to pick up any additional parts.

How did the holidays go for everybody? I hope well. I'm stuck in grand old Idaho Falls. My father had an operation and I have been here helping my mom. The town of I.F. is a real bummer. Changing my oil will be a welcome event...

I hope that everyone is well. Jeff - Get over your cough. I'll talk to you all soon.

Default New Thought

Ok, new thought - this "crush washer" isn't the washer that is on the pan plug? That makes a lot more sense than there being some magic washer for the filter... Now that I always heard called the sealing washer. Any thoughts?

The crush washer goes between the drain plug and pan... Kinda like a gasket for the drain plug bolt.

I still feed crappy. I went to the doc today for antibiotics, I have bronchitis.

Jaxx - Good luck on the house.

Screaming2.5 - the crush washer is like $.70 from the dealer. Total scam I think. I have never changed mine and it does not leak.

Austin - I hope you antibiotics work. I have viral broncitus, and antibiotics do NOTHING!!!! BAH!!!

I got my blinkers yesterday. I will be spending tomarrow and sunday working on my car. I need to "fix" my suspension and get the blinkers installed. We will be pulling some parts off Jaxx's car on Sunday if anyone wants to help. I dont know where or when, you will need to ask Jaxx.

Good luck on the house Jaxx.

As usual i'll chime in with my "I'll try and help Sunday" comment. I will be in town, but I just moved so I might be busy. Maybe not though.

If you die Jeff I could use your torque wrench.

Yeah, I never changed that washer on my 2.5, but I did go a get one for the WRX. I understand why they call it a "crush washer" now. It was cool, the dealership here in IF just gave it to me. I know it's only like $0.70, but that was still nice of them.

Well I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one who has been getting sick. Not that I would wish it on anyone. I haven't had a cough, but a runny nose. I think I gave it to the entire city of IF, so it's not just contained to Boise anymore.

As far as Sunday goes, I'm not going to be back till Sunday evening. Sorry man. My dad had a tumor on his thyroid, so they took it out on Wednesday. I guess all in all the tumor was larger than a golf ball. It was non cancerous, but he is down and in bed, so I'm trying to give my mom all the help I can. I'll tell you, I sure would like to be back on Boise.

I hope all is well and that Santa brought good gifts (hopefully with STi emblems).

So what did you end up ordering?

Blue Sedan?

Just got off the phone with Luke at TireRack.

new springs are cheap, so I will be ordering some lighter ones to see if I can calm my car down.

tenders - $22
mains - $28

I am thinking about a 275 front spring and a 225 rear spring. these are as light as they go. then using a 150 tender on both.

I hope this helps.
