Mild Steel vs. Stainless Steel
Hey I searched and couldnt find anything on this topic so sorry if I double posted...
Anyways, I might buy a stromung catback used and it is made of Mild Steel, i havnt heard of this before. Are all the stromung backs made of Mild Steel? Whats the difference between Mild and Stainless? Thanks...

One of the vendors on here recently informed me when I was looking into these that the Stromung products are now made of stainless steel. You might want to confirmed.
YMMV but mild will have more of a tendency to rust. |

I wouldn't buy a used mild steel exhaust ANYTHING.....I'd take it off someones hands if they were gonna ****can it.....buy PAY???....NO.
Buy a new one....ALL the new ones are SS and worth every sweet sounding penny |

Mild steel doesnt last nearly as long as stainless would.
my MS stromung lasted about 3 years before it rotted out, and that was on the snow salty east coast. Dryer climates like CA might last a bit longer. why do they make mild steel...cause its cheaper. Jay |

Yeah, MS exhausts will rot out from the inside quite quickly. I know my Ansa did. Live and learn.

Mild is cheap and prone to oxidize
Stainless is expensive and won't oxidize. any material questions go to: www.matweb.com its the best |
