I bought and am running an exhaust housing from Kando. It came in a Kinugawa box.
The OBX 20G turbos have already been reviewed, the tread is continuing. Recently, an 18G Kinugawa was sold on the forum. There were problems with the 20G with inabillity to control the boost on them. If you look at all the Taiwan made exhaust housings and then compare them side-by-side with a Mitsubishi original, you will see that the internal wastegate bore needs to be ported. You have to look from the turbine inlet down towards the turbine. In a Mitsu turbo, you will see the lower wall of the wastegate bore. Part of the exhaust gas hits that and gets diverted into the wastegate channel The Taiwan housings are machined flush. The exhaust gases slip past the internal wastegate bore and hit the turbine. A very small percentage gets diverted. result? uncntrollable boost spikes... Unless.. You have EWG, then this is possibly the best housing you can ask for, from a stock mount unit. I've ported my housing and my Evo 3 16G can be controlled by my Prodrive BCS , it does 19 PSI in 3rd and 22 in 4th. I have photos in the OBX tread and the "internet turbo" tread. |

I've also bought, reviewed and measured a Kamak rebuild kit for the TD05 16G. The dimensions, when compared to Mitsu original were quite acceptable.
Kamak/Kando/Kinugawa use a "heavy duty" trust bearing that they advertize as an improvement over Mitsubishi OEM. You can see the differences in my tread and judge for yourself. |

If you want to see how a Kamak/Kando/Kinugawa looks like, when viewed from the same location, search in the for sale forum, recently an 18G was sold, with many photos.
I don't want to repost that tread here, maybe this is not a good idea. |

People ARE cheap and ARE stupid but we fight the good fight pushing the competition to rise above the bar only for them to ultimately become expensive. MY thoughts are get the right company at the right time heading up that arc or just get a 35r from ATP at a great price.

just to give some information. I have been trying to get some information from kamak directly about their gear, but so far I have not gotten a responce from kamak. I sent an lead to Kando (looks to be a reseller of kamak gear) and asked them about larger then 20g compressor wheels on the stock subaru 2.25 inlet. He stated that the 20g wheel is the largest that is possible in the stock inlet 2.25 size, and that anything larger will cause surge.....
so, I am kinda dubious as to this guys knowledge of the product, but it looks that unless kamak starts producing their own gear again on Ebay, then we are left with the largest stock size being a 20g, where anything else will need the 3" inlet. T |

I picked up a Kamak td05 18g 8cm and have had it on the car for about 200 miles now. I am running only wastegate boost at the moment because my injectors were maxing out at only 10psi. (running e85)
This weekend i put in some 850cc injectors and will put another 200-300 miles on the turbo before taking it to my tuner. Thoughts so far: Lag.... but this is mostly due to my BCS (factory) and it not being tuned 100% yet. Once the boost starts coming on, which for me at the moment is around 3700RPM it will hit max 7-8psi (wastegate pressure) all the way to redline. Hopefully once i get this thing on the dyno and tuned properly i can run 18+psi to redline and get rid of some of this dang lag!!!! Other mods on car: SSAC FMIC Perrin 2.4 silicone inlet PnP uppipe PnP exhaust manifolds grimmespeed crosspipe Invidia down and mid pipe catless BPM twister III cat back catless TXS short ram witchhunter 850cc walbro 255 iridium 1 step colder plugs kamak td05-18g 8^cm big 3 + grounding all around e85 tuned Things to add before tune: Perrin EBCS If anyone wants pics or has questions hit me up with a PM. this is where I am as well. the turbo was a tight fit on 08 wrx. the oil line supplied was too short...other than that.... greatness. I have to fix my exhaust this week and we will finish tuning this weekend on e85.
turbo came straight from Taiwan in a KAMAK box on an KAMAK invoice. included in the box were new studs for up and dp, gaskets, coolant line, braided oil line, nuts for dp and mounting points, and several misc fittings/t's |

Got the Perrin BCS in and running 14psi now. Still dealing with more lag than i would like but me and my tuner are still working on the AVCS and putting more miles on it before we hit the dyno. So far this turbo is working great.
Mine also came direct from kamak in taiwan big blue and gray box. |

For me the fitment was great. I had no issues getting it bolted on. The nipple on the turbo outlet (where your BCS lines go) is a bit tough to get to and on my turbo the wastegate nipple is point down which is also a bit tough to get to, not really that big of a deal.
My fitment may have been easier though because I use a FMIC. |

on an 08+ wrx, or legacy front mount would be highly suggested as this would not bolt up to the stock intercooler. |

for a LGT or a 08+ you will have to swap to a sti or front mount IC.
There is an affordable bolt on upgrade for those people that will be out very soon. I should have details and a full test by the end of the month. |

Bumped it up to 18psi pull hard to redline. Still lags more than i would like. I'll get it on the dyno soon. Running it all work week next week which will put me over 500 miles then going to the dyno
