Sick of muffler. Replacement and cost?
Hey there guys. I'm sick of my original (previous owner) completely universal muffler. I'm looking around for some other name brand universals to just make it look a bit better, and gain a bit better of a sound. Now, when I find my right one, what can I expect to pay to have a muffler shop take off my other one?
My muffler right now is welded to my custom 2.25" catback exhaust. Will this be a problem? Should I just look for a good midpipe and get an axleback instead? I know there are tons and TONS of these types of questions, but my main concern is how much is resonable for them just to cut it off and replace it. Thank ya guys!

if the piping is mandrel bent, just cut it off and replace it, will cost you less than getting a new axleback

i'd say a shop would want 100 to weld on a new muffler.

I wouldn't pay more than $40-65 for just the installation. I had a custom midpipe welded to a WRX axleback, everything installed cost me $80.

That was at Meineke.
That does not include what I paid for the axleback. ($60) So all in all, the catback cost me $140 parts+labor. Took 2-3 hours from a Saturday morning. |
