So many doctors...

So, Massa says he can compete, even be faster than, Alonso this year.
Hope springs eternal?

I almost feel bad for ole Phil. Ferrari gelded him in Hockenheim 2010 and he hasn't been the same since...

His injury was a huge set back and he never seemed truly fast again since. His drive in Germany that Ferrari gave to Alonso a year later must have been devastating to him. I know it would be to me.

Do you all really think that Alonso wouldn't have been able to get past him regardless? This is the guy that divebombed Felipe in the pitlane, I doubt getting past him on track wouldn't have been too much of an issue...Ferrari just didn't want to risk them crashing.

I understand where Ferrari was coming from, although I don't agree with it. Alonso probably would have been able to pass him but I was talking more about Massa's mental state.

What do GP drivers do during the off season? If you're Lewis Hamilton, you go to the studio and work on an album (singing/rapping about God knows what) and have a fashion shoot looking like a ladyboy.

(could those be the faded pants from Honda's Earth Dreams crew uniforms??)

That was the defining moment for me. The fact that the team didn't speak out against it sealed it for me.

It didn't take any "moment" for me to know Massa was worthless. I saw how terrible he was at Sauber and was flabbergasted when Ferrari signed him on as a tester. He played a satisfactory role as Schumacher's #2, but he would never be a world champion. '08 was a fluke. I know it and Massa knows it. Let's be real here, Ferrari didn't sign Alonso to "push" Massa.

No, but I spoke to Antonio Ferrari once about driving for his USF3 team about 10 years ago. He didn't think my experience as a valet was worthy of a free test session in one of his cars.

Considering he couldn't get pasy Petrov with a world title on the line, I highly doubt it.

I think you all are being a little hard on Felipe. He was super quick in 07 an 08. For 3 years he dominated both Turkey and Brazil. His qualifying performance at the 08 Singapore GP was insane.

I don't know how much of his gap to Alonso is due to his injury or Alonso himself. Remember, a lot of people thought that Fisi was a future world champion...he was faster than all of his teammates including Ralf Schumacher, Jenson Button, and Felipe Massa. When Alonso beat the pulp out of him in 05 and 06...it was clear just how good Alonso was.

Ferrari chassis failed FIA test

Ferrari's bid to challenge for this year's World titles reportedly took a knock when their 663 failed its crash tests.

A new regulation this season is that all chassis must pass the mandatory FIA crash tests before they can take part in pre-season testing.

But, according to Finland's Turun Sanomat, Ferrari's 2012 chassis, dubbed the 663, failed on its first attempt.

This meant it was back to the drawing board for Ferrari, who had to reinforce the structure before the second attempt at the tests.

That test is reportedly scheduled for the coming week with Ferrari then set to unveil their new car on February 3rd before testing kicks off on the 7th.
Not a good start

Kubica will get to really focus in on his arm strength with his leg out of commission for another couple months...

Kubica would be lucky if he can drive a Golfkart in the near future

He will never drive a Formula 1 car again
