Who's the #1 Subaru dealership in the country now?
According to this NY Times article, http://www.nytimes.com/2003/01/12/bu...partner=GOOGLE:

So, this information immediately prompts the question: Which Subaru dealership in the U.S. sold the most Subarus last year?

IRVINE IRVINE IRVINE!
I honesly dont know, but my bets are on Irvine Subaru in southern california OK OK im a little biased because i bought my car there, but hey they have a great track record and are pretty much involved with the Subaru community as well |

Irvine is great. I would believe that they are one of the top sellers of Imprezas (bought mine there too), but I don't think for Subarus in general. Typically subarus sell better in bad wether areas (Irvine definitely not being that).

nah. irvine subaru IS the #1 wrx dealer in the country, if not the world, selling right around 100 wrxs a month since it was released if i'm not mistaken. however, subarus are not nearly as popular in southern california as they are in other states like washington and other parts of the US where there is more "weather" than in southern california.
but it would be interesting to see who the #1 dealer in the country is. please post if you have the info, thanks. |

100 WRXs a month would mean they sold roughly half the WRXs in the entire US in 2002. It may hurt areas like the northwest, midwest, and northeast to be the "#1 volume dealer" since there are more dealers.

i don't know. i do know that california has more cars than any other state by a large margin. i also know that in a 60 mile radius of where i am now, i can think of 9 subaru dealers, and they are all selling pretty well right now. this isn't in the "midwest" or "southeast", this is in a small area of southern california.
it would be interesting to know the percentages of sales per region. you'd think that someone would be able to post that info by now. and yes, i'm pretty sure that irvine subaru has sold close to 2000 wrxs, which is close to 100 per month. there are a LOT of wrxs here. we have meets that are announced a week before they happen and 60 imprezas show up just from local people. and most of them are modded. it's like a little impreza show. it's fun. |

So, Prestige Subaru, in Asheville, SC, has stepped up to the podium to claim the Southeast Region unit sales title. Aren't there any claimants from the Central, Mid-America, NY-Northern NJ, New England, Penn-Jersey, or Western regions? If we can round them all up, then they could all lay their cards out on the table together. Oh, and Van Bortel is probably the champ in the NY-Northern NJ region. Two down and five to go. I suspect the champ is in Colorado, maybe Flatirons? |

Actually, rereading it, he was cobbling together a suggestion that the large number of vehicles in CA, combined with the large number of Subaru dealerships, might mean that CA has the most Subarus. But as you pointed out, this ignores market share. Last edited by Zola; 01-14-2003 at 09:16 PM. |

If the champ is in Colorado I would guess Burt Subaru.

The champ in Colorado Is Flatirons. Irvine has sold a few more WRX's, but nobody sells more Outbacks.

Flatirons in Boulder was the largest volume dealer in CO 2 years ago in March when the WRX was released. They recieved more shipments of WRX's that were not ordered by customers than any other dealer in the state for the mere fact that they were the largest volume dealer in the state. Whether or not they still are, I do not know, but something tells me they are.
I don't think they're the #1 dealer in the country though. edit: damn, Bret posting in at the same time I did Last edited by Strepto; 01-14-2003 at 11:35 PM. |

I know we (Carter Subaru, Seattle) are a top 20 dealer...
and I also know that Hueberger in Colorado Springs is a top 20 dealer... not certain of the standings overall tho... Jamie www.subiegalracing.com||www.allsubaru.com |
