Default Replacing Chrome window trim on 93L for black trim

Hi, I didn't have any luck searching so I wanted to ask you guys...

I might be getting a 93L sedan that needs some major mechanical and cosmetic work. On the cosmetic side, one thing I'd really like to do is replace the chrome trim pieces that surround the windows on the 93MY cars with the black that's found on all the other years? If I can't remove and replace the chrome, can i paint it?

thanks for the help!

I asked the same question a couple weeks ago. Apparently it holds paint pretty well, so you can just mask it off and paint it. You can also track down black trim and swap it. I'm painting mine soon!

I don't have the car yet, so I can't go out and look...do you know how easy it is to remove the trim? I'd a big fan of junkyarding, so if I could pilfer trim from a wreck, i'd gladly do that and make the swap.

Just in case, please keep me posted as to how successful your painting is. Thanks!
