97' outback 4eat & 97' LGT 4eat
I have the old 4eat out of my 97' LGT sitting on the garage floor and wanted to have it rebuilt and beefed up a bit to handle some boost for my wife's 97' outback since her tranny has 245K miles on it. I just want it built and ready to go for when we boost her car.
I thought they would be the same 4eat with the 4.44 FD, but according to the plate on the chassis they have different part numbers. 97' LGT: TZ102Z2CCA 97' OB: TZ102Z2CBA I can't find any info on the LGT tranny and wondered what the difference was since they are the same year car. Could I use the LGT tranny in the outback? Any info or help would be great!

Just because it has different part # doesn't means it doesn't fit I think as long as the FDR is the same which I think it's 4.44 for the 4EAT (correct me if I'm wrong) for that year range.

Well I did some more digging and read in the FSM that the outback has a different speedo gear for the larger tires that came on them, and a higher rpm stall converter by like 200 rpm. That looks like the only difference, as they are both a 4.44 FD
