In the changer today:

Dead Kennedy's - "Plastic Surgery Disasters/In God We Trust"
The Clash - "Give 'em Enough Rope"
Mission of Burma - "Peking Spring" (currently playing)
Elvis Costello - "This Year's Model"
The Ex - "History Is What's Happening"

Sort of a late 70's/early 80's punk thing happenin'.

Yeah, Play With Toys . I haven't listened to it literally in years.

Was listening to Ben Harper last night and meant to ask you if you're into him. (the mournful tunes comment reminded me) Some of lyrics are breathtaking. While they have almost nothing in common he sort of makes me think of Jeff Buckley for some reason. Maybe it's just the general vibe of the lyrics.

This Year's Model is probably my favorite Elvis record, but since I'ma fanatic about him, I could change my mind about that in the next minute.

Yeah, same here. I think I'm one of the only people I know who really really likes "Trust", and "Get Happy" may be my fave, even though it's essentially an apology for calling James Brown a ******.

Pretty Girls Make Graves - Good Health

good stuff, wonderful live show. Interesting to see if their next album holds up, Rolling Stone didn't seem too excited about it, but what do they know.

I heard that E was such a drunk when he wrote Get Happy that the guys in the band would challenge him to write a song in five minutes or less and that's how "Possession" was written. It was about a waitress in a pub.

I saw them last year at a dive on the edge of town. They kicked much bootay.

And Rolling Stone magazine doesn't know jack about music anymore, neither does Spin, which is a shame because that magazine was actually decent when Bob Guccione Jr was editor in chief.

They'd be perfect for Old Navy commercials.

However, I might pull out some Simon and Garfunkel, in honor of them reuniting. I don't care where they are touring, I will catch one of those shows.

I didn't know they were reuniting. I saw them in Georgia in the early 80s, it was a great show. I love their music.
