Default +100 WHP From Meth!

So my Tuner only said good things and I've only heard good things about Methanol with a big turbo. So here are the charts to prove, for around $600.00, a methanol kit is a GREAT idea.

18 lbs of boost without meth. 419.6 WHP @ 6050 RPMs

With Methanol 27 lbs of boost. 520 WHP @ 5550
+100 WHP, 500 RPMs quicker.
+109 TQ at 4800 RPMS

Contrary to the paper. Its a 2005 WRX with a STI 2.5L Swap with CP Pistons using an AEM EMS, not a UTEC.

Uhh why were you only running 18psi before?

I run 21psi off meth and 26 psi on meth...

hardly a fair comparison

I agree. You could have seen a 200whp inc. if you ran 10psi before the meth also.

Simply put, I was stoked that the car made 100 more whp than the last time I dropped it off. Of course 18 psi and 27 psi is a huge difference, but this amount of boost was not possible without running meth or c16. Not to mention, that the turbo spools much faster. Sorry for the inflamed thread title. (Haters...)

To answer another post, I'm not sure why the runs stopped a little after 6000 RPMs. I wasn't there during the tune. Truthfully just noticed that. Mod list will come later. More than just pistons and Meth..of course.

I might go to Orlando Speedway this Wednesday. I have classes at UCF until 9 this Wednesday tho. I'm going to zoom over there from campus and try to make one run before they close down.

What do you drive?

I am glad you are happy with the results... but mikaust and I are bother running 25-28 psi on pump gas. It can be done... I made 461 whp with my 2 liter and GT35R and mikaust made 485 whp with his 2.5 and GT35R (he's running 2 liter heads too).

On C16 we both made over 600 whp.

Enjoy!!

I wouldnt say that you gained 100whp From meth because you clearly could have run more boost without meth. More like ran low boost off meth and added tons more boost after meth and called it a 100whp because of meth.

I'm running 26 psi on pump, 30 on pump and meth, 32 on race gas. I don't have official numbers for the meth tune because we changed the exhaust after the first pull on race gas. The first pull we made on race gas with the meth tune once we changed the muffler made 589/503. My final numbers on C16 was 624/528. Pump was 478/397 before the muffler change, and the meth was at 513/425 before.

I think dug-e-fresh runs 740s on his car, I don't think 740s would be maxed out

I had a pretty conservative pump tune that put those modded stock WRX injectors in the 92-96% duty cycle range. We had 8 of those injectors tested back 3-4 years ago and the ones we had tested all put out 850 cc @ 43 psi I believe? So I know Big Al tested them and I think he got 740 and thats kinda what stuck... I have a sneaking suspicion that they're abit larger than that

Luckily on race gas running lean is the way to go... I had JUST enough for my race gas tune .
