Breathers
Alright, i am bored and have time to kill, i dont wanna do suspension right now cuz of winter.. But.. I wanna build an intake. I am thinking of using breathers to limit how much SI tube i have to buy. I was thinking of popping breathers on the Valve covers, and all the other hoses.. anyone have info regarding this??

Breathers are a no, no. Not only do you risk splashing oil all over the engine bay, you take away the vacuum it creates inside the crankcase.
Try to push your hand through a tube of water, now try with out the water, see how much easier it is? That's what a vacuum does in the engine. |

Hmm, a cross post in the same forum???
People are not answering you in your other post because what you are asking makes no sense. You gain nothing but a decrease and possibly engine damage by placing breathers on hoses for no reason. Breathers WILL NOT give you horsepower and have nothing to do with a CAI. If you are looking to build a DIY CAI, do a search in this forum and you will find a ton of info. As far as the breathers on everything, no one has a clue as to what you are talking about. |

I do know what your talking about and I would not recommend breathers. I had a breather filter for my old Weapon-R intake and it definately took some torque away from the bottom end. I would just recommend buying a quality intake like an Injen(what I've got)or a Cobb CAI. These kits do not use breathers and they have ports for the stock vacuum lines.
