I look at it this way: you can spend $450 or so on rokkor coils, have them blow after a year or two, and then buy another set. Or you can save up a little longer and buy a set of quality coil overs, and never have to replace them.

I have no problem putting racelands/rokkors/whatever on a beater/budget that is in desperate need for a suspension change. Heck, my miata is on $700 Megan's. But why would you ever spend $10k on a WRX and then put it on cheap coils that perform worse than stock struts and springs? I guess I'm just not on board with the latest stance fad
I agree 100 percent. But if your gonna hellastance your car or whatever then it really doesn't matter much if u go with cheap coils.

Recently I was told the apexi n1 coils are great and are a little above 1k. They sell them on rallysportdirect.

My greddy type s are great but I'm not happy with greddys customer service

Ahahaha. Well for a lot of people that just want to lower their cars for form only, actually care about the parts they put on they're cars. They want a quality about the car they own. Whydoes everyone say "oh if your going to just slam your car all you need is shatty coils or springs". Well shatty coils equals more bounce and a crappy ride altogether and also they have to worry about parts failing on them while driving. Stop giving poor advice. Anyone can put whatever part on whatever car for whatever reason.

Agreed. Even if you're "hard parking" your car, you still have to drive it. Who wants to drive a car that's on pogo sticks? I can't wait for this fad to blow over.

Edit, here's some more wagon content to keep the thread on track

Whoa whoa whoa, which "fad" are we talking about lol. Lowering or "stanceing" "hellaflush" "hardparked" (i hate using those terms) or whatever has been done for awhile now. I like driving low and i care more about wheel fitment and the looks of my car than speed but i still respect those guys who have cars that are engine built and can put down a lot of power.

The fad of slamming a car on racelands and rep wheels and slapping an "illest" sticker on it.

This. It takes as much, if not more, work and planning to fit wide wheels on a low car as it does to slap an STi take-off turbo and IC on a WRX and call it quick. It's not just slap on some cheap coils, XXRs with tiny tires and call it good (which I agree is stupid). To do it right, you have to do the proper fender work, understand how suspension components interact with each other, and do a lot of trial and error.

So then where's a happy medium? Like in the spring ill be buying a set of coils but still don't know what ones. It's a daily and i really would just like to lower it a good amount but still have a decent ride for the commutes. What to you guys recommend? I don't wanna get crap but I don't wanna be throwing down thousands for top of the line

Your just a grumpy old man aren't you. Maybe it's time for you to buy a Lincoln, and start shaking your fist at all the kids skateboarding in your neighborhood.

Everyone's going to tell you to save your money and buy KW V3 for like $3.5k. Ignore them and just do your research. Coils are designed for track cars ideally. So they're not gonna be like riding in a Cadillac. It's more of a "raw" feeling.

Personally, check out fortune auto or BC's.

Sweet Forester! How hard was it to modify the blob eye Impreza bumper to the Forester? I haven't seen that before.

A friend and fellow member did the work for me. It was a combination of the top half of the forester bumper and the bottom half of the impreza bumper. He made it look simple but I can only imagine the number of hours he spent on filling and shaping the area.

Thanks. I was even looking at d2 as well, my buddy had them and they rode nice but a little stiff but Im sure that's just how he set it. But yeah I want something good but not expensive. Someone even said look into the new raceland ultimos but I'm like on the fence with that company. I mean my other buddy has them and sits low and it's a decent ride, but I'm a little skeptical about the quality and how long they'll last. Everyone seems to get all fired up when someone mentions raceland, but I want to hear from someone that's actually had them for a while not just getting them/first set of coils

I picked up a set of fortune autos and will be throwing them on come spring. A friend of mine has a set and LOVES them. Very well rated and very competitively priced with lots of options.
Great mid range ban for buck.

Yes, I agree. I've been a fan of BongBing's car for a long time now. There is a big difference between doing it right than doing it quickly/cheap/mexiflush. Okay, I'm done derailing this thread now

FWIW, I'm quite happy with my BC coils. It's not a cushy plush ride, but I was willing to sacrifice some comfort to accomplish my aesthetic goals. It's stiff, but not kidney punishing, but that's by choice (I run them at like 18 clicks for damping). The Megan, BC, and ISC coils all have solid warranties or rebuild programs if you have any issues.

They also have great customer service as well.

I had a buddy running racelands, with no problems, but then again they are the cheapest thing on the market. They also were very bouncing an non dampening adjustable. My .02 cents on those is don't get them.

I'm on BC's and love them. I'm also 23 and not 52, so a little rough, raw ride, doesn't bother me. I honestly like it. Makes the car feel planted and not floating.

I should add that disclaimer that I'm also in my mid 20s. If I wanted a comfortable car, I would have bought something different.
