& I bought the crap, crap, crap eBay ones & they're still holding up just fine. Worth $7.99 IMO especially since the application was a trial run for me. Worked perfectly for me & I expect will hold up for a few years. If it needs replacing sooner, then oh well... only cost a few dollars.

I paid less for my crappy ebay film than you paid to have them ship the lamin-x to you.

Still holding up great, no issues with it whatsoever, and if/when I need to replace it I'll buy another sheet of film for under $4 (shipped) from the same ebay vendor.

I got them simply because I put a lot of stuff in the back of the car. I found the stock fabric covering the back of the seats to be quite cheap feeling. The plastic covering feels kind of cheap, thin flexible plastic. But it does the job of protecting the fabric that it is supposed to do. With the cargo tray, it really looks nice too.

You say it's crap crap crap, but you don't go into details as to why it's crap crap crap. Did you not install them correctly? You need to heat them slightly to get them contoured to the curvature of the lens.

i ordered the headlight armor this morning, we will see I guess. It is supposed to be 20mil, where most of what I saw on ebay was 2-5mil.

I wonder how hard it is to install the 20 mil overlays. The thinner one I put on need to be heated and stretched a decent amount.

I didn't buy the Lamin-X. I'm okay with the eBay crap.

anyone figure a good way to provide better lighting in the rear hatch? i am currently using this light, but occasionally i'll forget to turn off the light and then the batteries goes dead. i saw the LED strip but idk how i feel about attaching that to my roof without the old plastic cover in the earlier model.

Good question. I noticed that those bulbs are not listed in the owner's manual. Another bulb that they neglect to mention is the one in the glove box. I would also like to know because I plan to replace all my interior bulbs with LEDs.

Anyone take apart the instrument panel yet? Is the center LCD easily swappable?

Yes, and if the backlighting isn't swappable, I think a translucent red overlay to match the gauges would be nice.

The limited display is much better in my opinion. It conveys the same info while dumping a lot less light into the cockpit (and yes I know it can be dimmed). It also matches the foreground illumination theme of the gauges. I wonder if it's the same display with a flipped polarizer.

I have them. The only con I noticed is that sometimes the crease pops up when putting the seats back upright after they've been down, and I have to just push it down so it folds properly.

Had no idea the limited had a different center display. All the pics I've seen make it look identical to the rest of the trim levels. Good to know.

Interesting, where can you find the displays? I believe they are too new for eBay.

Question, guys. I just hit 4000 miles this week. I got the car mid-December and had my first oil change in mid-March, which came before I hit 3000 miles (I was probably at 2200 miles). Next week I plan on driving to NYC from Chicago, almost 1500 miles round-trip. I'm not sure whether I should get an oil change now or get it after I come back. By the time I come back I will have gone 300 miles over the next oil change interval, which is as 5200 miles. Last week I checked the dipstick and the oil seemed pretty dirty. What do you guys think? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. By the way, is the 2nd scheduled service just an oil /filter change?

The Subaru recommendation is 7500 miles between oil changes (they recommend, but do not require, the first change at 3,000 miles).

I don't see how highway miles could qualify as "severe" driving conditions necessitating earlier oil changes.

You are on a schedule all of your own design if you are changing it every 3000 miles, in which case you should ask yourself, "self, what would you do", and then do it.
