Default Intercooler Questions

I have a 2002 WRX and I am in process of of doing a VF39 swap. Along with the turbo I am upgrading to 565 sti pinks and a Walbro 342 fuel pump. My question relates to the intercooler. Will my stock intercooler do or do I need to upgrade it to the STI intercooler or another brand. I am an 18 yr old kid who builds his car paycheck to paycheck and I need to know if the upgraded intercooler is a necessity. I however do not want to put any strain on my car or my brand new (rebuilt lol) turbo.
Thanks guys

Will it work? Yes.

Will you be getting the most out of the turbo? Probably not.

Will it heat soak quicker in summer? Sure.
