I've definitely heard/seen of numerous engines that seized after high performance usage of an engine with a spun main bearing. |

![]() It can only take less than 1/4 mile before the engine seizes by the way: 87 Fox body 5.0L with a roots blower. My friend knew the internals were approaching the end of their life. Anyway, a little more than half way down the track he said he felt like the car was slowing down and then the wheels lock up shortly thereafter. The 10 car pile up was hyperbole. |

^ +1 to the relatively short distance in which the engine will "seize" or otherwise die.
One '09 Forester XT owner (not me, although our engine suffered a spun bearing at approx. 4200 miles, and a longblock was replaced under warranty) barely made it from the start of a typical off-ramp, to its end, before the vehicle simply died. |

I drive pretty hard but always after a good warm up and never in the red, use the AP with cobb 91 ACN, usually add a gallon or two of VP 100, 9500 miles and no probs. . . |

Well, my '09 WRX 5-door with 08/08 build date made it until 16,500 miles without any problems. Then, without warning...
I woke up one morning and decided to get rid of it. Life is good. ![]() |
