So last Fri. I recieved some products in the mail. I was able to start with an engine detail which i was pretty happy with. Now it was time for exterior. The new exterior product is:
-Meguires clay bar kit -opti-seal -wolfgang fuzion wax -p21s car wash I first started out with a good car wash and drying- using a blower. I then pulled the car in the garage and started to inspect the paint. Since I recently just did a full paint correction about 3 wks ago, I didnt think it was necessary to do again. I did notice some fine scrathces on the hood and because we live on the ocean there was some salt water spots that the car wash would not remove. ![]() ![]() I first started by using the clay bar kit. ![]() This was my first time using it since im used to using a cutting pad and compound. I could feel it pulling contaminents off the surface but noticed there were some more surface scratches. I then pulled out the polisher and swirl remover to get rid of all that nastyness. ![]() i was pretty happy with the outcome and now I could continue. ![]() ![]() Now that i had a clean surface I started with the waxing. I thought why the heck not start with some klasse AIO to use before the sealant. I havnt been a fan of the klasse because its too much work to remove. But, if you do small sections at a time and remove quickly its not too bad. ![]() Now with the Klasse on, it was time for the optii-seal. After applying to the hood as directed....I was like wow. It literally was a wipe on and walk away aplication, though I did give it a once over with a microfiber. This stuff is amazing and will forever replace the Klasse SG I have. After letting it bond for about 4 hrs (directions say up to 12) I applied the Wolfgang fuzion. First thing i noticed was that It had a nice scent to it. I used a foam applicator to wipe on, then a microfiber to remove. This is by far the best wax I have ever used. I used to use p21s but this blows it away. The removal process is soooo easy. And doesnt leave a fine streak like the p21s did. I would highly recommend this wax. ![]() ![]() ![]() CONTINUED IN NEXT THREAD =) |

Great write-up. Ryan and I both live right on the ocean so our cars, even my Saab (the RS has looked like bird poop by comparison..typical of most paint jobs for cars), gets battered by the rain/mist/ocean mixture of stuff that literally takes off paint from even the best painted cars. Nothing one can do about that, but it should really be made a point to exercise waxing your car not just for looks, but for necessity. It helps revitalize the car, helps protect it, and the last thing I care about, though is obviously a nice thing, is that it makes the car shine.
Ryan's car is always shiney coming down the street when I see him. ![]() |

Looks great dude! A little helpful hint for next time you polish a car, try clay baring the car first, even thou your going to compound it really helps make polishing easier. 20 minutes to clay bar a car saves a lot of time buffing later

Looks great!
I see you have a clear bra. Do you just wax that as you do the rest of the car? |

This was one of my first big posts so i wasnt sure exactly how the posting a lot of pics worked...i ended up puting the engine bay pics in another post. Anyways, the bra is spray on by armorcoat. its kind of gummy and resists chips pretty well. It will still damage if hit by a big enough rock. After it was put on i ended up wetsanding and buffing it cause there was some peel in it. The thing that sucks is that if i need to repaint hood the whole thing will have to be stripped because of the edge where it ends 1/4 way up the hood. and yes, I do just wax as i do the rest of the car. |
