can someone tell me how much louder the invidia q300 for the '11+ sedan is compared to stock? i think the stock is rather quiet and i would like some nice rumbly subaru sounds. i for sure like the look but i hear some people say its quiet, and others say its very loud. its hard to tell from the videos! the other exhaust that looks shexy is the magnaflow; however, all i hear about that one is that it's insanely loud and unbareable. i want to be heard coming from a distance away but i dont want to shatter my own ear drums. plz help mehhh!

Usually the ones who say the q300 is loud is because it's on a hatchback, the sedan exhaust is the quiet one. One might not be able to hear it on the sedan unless they are behind you.

This is true if your talking about the day you install it. The q300 does break in though and on the sedans it has plenty of sound but still no drone. Couple it with the Catted dp like my setup and I feel it's the best sounding tbe on the market.

I personally can't stand the q300. Its far too bassy and has that horrible in cabin done at idle. I love the sound of the muffled Nameless exhaust, more aggressive tone without that bass drone.

When we make comments like this, we need to specify whether we're speaking of the hatch or sedan. I have the Q300 on my sedan and IMHO, the quote above can't be farther from the truth, for the sedan. The Q300 has no drone at any engine speed, including high or low idle. It is louder than stock, deeper in tone, but very quiet while cruising on the highway.

The hatch is a different story. It is much louder than stock and does drone at cruise. Again, IMHO, it is not unbearable in daily driving, but it could become so on a longer drive.

Edit: If I turn my stock stereo up to about 15-18, I can pretty much drown out my exhaust in my drive to and from work. Those with stock 2011+ stereos know 15-18 isn't high at all.

I must admit, that sounds great, Dmochowski. Especially considering it doesn't have a resonator. I would like to hear this with you doing a couple drive-bys and maybe an in-car window down pull.

I have the Catted Invidia DP on my sedan q300 and it is perfect even with the seats down. I'm not a fan of loud exhausts either.

on a sedan or hatch?

i'm looking between the magnaflow catback and q300 catback.

some say the magnaflow is epicly loud, and you're saying it's quiet?

the q300 on the sedan looks to be the sexiest but i hear fitment is an issue. so for looks the q300 wins but i am wondering how they sound. it appears as a lot of people have the q300 so i may just get that

Q300 sedan had a small fitment issue in early models where one side sticks out a little farther than the other. Mine is like that. No rubbing though and it's really not that noticable. Love my q300.

I ordered a nameless cateback with 4in mufflers double walled quad tip.

I can't stand the drone 1.5k - 3k from the invidia catted DP + q300 V2 (V1 on my friends hatch is a different story) on my 2012 WRX HATCH. It sounds great when you get on it but cruising in any of those rpm ranges if your on or off the throttle at all will result in stupid amounts of boom inside the cabin.

So I will soon have a for sale thread for the Q300 V2
