lol... wow, I just bumped onto this thread! I recently had a small transaction (thankfully) with Vivid. This is what I had ordered:

Products
------------------------------------------------------
4 x MOTUL Motylgear 75W90 Transmission Fluid 1 Liter (317011) = $43.96
1 x MOTUL Gear Box 80W90 Transmission Fluid 1 Liter (317211) = $14.99
------------------------------------------------------
Handling Fee: $0.00
Sub-Total: $58.95
Vivid Racing Shipping (1 x 13lbs) (Ground): $19.25
Total: $78.20

and this is what came in the box:

... they shipped only 1 bottle of the MotylGear, and 3 bottles of Gear300 (which I did NOT order). Granted, it worked out for me, as they are the same viscocity, and Gear300 is actually full synthetic, works very well on Subaru trannies and cost $5 dollar more per bottle... but it easily could've been the other way round.

I didn't mess with trying to call or return the items, as I was in hurry to change out the old oil... so not sure how that process would've gone.

Im unsure of how Ups handles shipments of oil im sure they charge extra cash when they do for hazardous conditions, i know usps will not even ship my 2oz oil samples.

Be glad your not returning it to them $$.

F... 3 weeks ago i ordered some struts from them (how didn't i see this thread?) They charged me a $5 mishandling fee. Well, as it turns, they did NOT have it in stock. And we countinuously called untill they gave us a tracking number. Well, they are shipping from kyb, to them and are now shipping them to us. WTF! I called them, even emailed the owner. All I asked for was that upgrade my shipping to overnight, since it's their own fault they dont keep their products in stock. Well, they're not gonna do it. They offered to refund my shipping, but that means I still need to wait another week before my parts arrive (let's hope they're the right ones too). I know i'm NEVER doing buisness with VividRacing again.

They have been good to me. Jim Rimmer is a sales consultant that I talk to directly. He has been on top of getting mentracking numbers and making sure it is me making the order. I love the Bill Me Later availability. I get six months of no interest. And stays on the DL from the wife :X NOTE to other shops, get bill me later!!! I think business for the other shops will fly through the roof too.

The only issue I do have is that they won't ship to my office. That is annoying and I believe other shops are the same. I understand the issue of fraud though so I deal with it.

They lost me as a customer! For a $12 lug nut end cap, 40 minutes on hold; I hung up and called again trying to get Management on the line for some help...call back again, Who picks up? The knuckle head I was holding for in the first place. What does he say to me? "No one told me you were holding for me?" I call RavSpec and in less then 2 minutes I have my Volk formula lugnut end cap ordered and ready to ship. Thanks Mark. Vivid racing you've lost a good customer. 2-Subies rex-STi, 1-5 series touring, 1-FD .

Vivid was banned from NASIOC for being such sacks of **** - the only vendor to ever be banned. Why do people keep going to them?

Angry Don't ever use Vivid Racing !!!!!!!!

Here is my short-er version of how they porked me over

I called and spoke to Jade a couple days ago in RE: an APR wind splitter I saw on their site.

On the site it's listed as $306 and there is a coupon code for $10% off making it $275.40 then add in shipping. I called and spoke to Jade, he quoted me $325.40 shipping included. I agreed, gave him my card # & shipping info and we made the deal. Jade called me that night to confirm that my car was a WRX and not an STi and said it would be a couple days & I would have it. My card was charged the $325.40 on the 3rd.
I got this email on the 3rd:

I just got a call from APR Performance, they are telling me standard shipping is $124 for this item.
Did you want to continue with the order?

I said:
but you quoted me a price and I agreed??? I'm at a loss for words, and feel as if you should have to stick to your quote.

Jade:
I would love to stick to my quote on shipping but shipping has to honestly be paid either way, so us eating the shipping and giving 10% off would actually end up costing us money on the transaction. Normally the shipping is $50 but APR said for this specific splitter its more because of the size.

me:
Well, I have been looking at several websites and the highest shipping on this splitter I have found is $65. I honestly don't think this is right, you gave me a quote, we came to an agreement and I gave you my card number - there shouldn't be anymore discussion about it. Honestly, you would call me back and say great news - we charged you $20 to much for shipping so were going to refund you the money would you??? It's the same thing and not the way to do business. I have 2 WRX's and this puts a bad taste in my mouth for any future dealings with Vivid Racing.

Jade:
Give me a call when you get a chance.
I would be MORE than glad to sell you this part and get it on your WRX so you can be happy, but again this is what APR is telling me the shipping cost is, you are more than willing to call them yourself and inquire about the splitter and see what they would charge you for shipping cost.
Ill go ahead and refund the full amount back to your credit card so I wont have a hold on your money, until we can agree on what to do about this.

ME:
If you charged my card it just proves my point that we had a deal. Im not going to argue with you anymore on this, I went against a lot of reviews saying your company is terrible to deal with and I should not have. Credit my account back tonight, as I found it on rally sport direct in stock $324 shipping included. heres the link - and no one else is charging that kind of shipping! not happy but it is what it is

http://www.rallysportdirect.com/APR-...-WRX-2008-2010

Jade:
Sounds good ill have the refund processed tomorrow as my accounting is out

Obviously I don't think this is right, and if you quote someone a price & charge them - you should have to honor that price.
I called and spoke to Shawn a customer service manager and he told me pretty much sorry about my luck they can't sell it to me for that price because they would lose money...sorry for the mix up
I tried to reason with the guy, and I even told him that I have 2 WRX's and buy a lot of parts, and that I was going to put them on blast with all the forums but he didn't care. I guess Vivid Racing has enough money and doesn't need my business EVER

Default I agree don't buy from vivid racing

I wish I had found this thread awhile ago it would have saved me the trouble:

I purchased a Agency Power Exhaust System from Vivid Racing for my 2009 Porsche Boxster S 987 Gen II with DFI. A representative from Vivid Racing stated it fits this specific make and model vehicle.

Turns out it does not, fitment is different for Gen I and Gen II cars. I contacted Agency Power and received confirmation about this from a rep named Matt Jobin, "We have not installed one of these on a 987.2. This is designed to fit the first Gen 987"

I had the exhaust professionally installed and the installer modified the exhaust for fitment (shortened the pipe leading into the resonator) This of course makes my problems with the product more complex. The installer made the fitment without my knowledge, however the product should have never required specialized fitment. My complaints:
The exhaust has signifiant drone and reverberation, it is not fine for daily driving as advertised by Vivid Racing.
Additional cost I incurred for installation, an additional 1.5 hours of shop labor time.

I contacted Dan Mermelstein from Vivid Racing who was very unhelpful and shrugged the issue off, stating I received a discount on the exhaust (apparently discounts mean no customer service) and that the exhaust is modified and no longer his problem. This is their problem as their sales rep stated it fits Gen II cars when in fact it does not. The exhaust was incorectly advertised and therefore certainly Vivid Racings problem.

Further research shows that Vivid Racing and Agency Power are the same company. Under no circumstance should this exhaust have been sold to a 987 Gen II owner when Agency Power had never even tested the product on the vehicle. I am very displeased with the customer service and how the issue has been handled by both companies.

I would recommend anyone considering purchasing from Vivid Racing make your decision carefully as they will not provide you acceptable service if you have issues with their products.

vivid racing just whole bunch of scammers. Never deal with them, and they will always have a lot of reasons to delay your services, shipping. Stay away from them if you love your car

Sorry to bump an old thread but I also have had a bad experience with Vivid. Ordered Status racing side mounts and a status racing slider for my Ring GT through Import Image. I received an email from IIR the next day asking which model seat this was for. About a week later I don't get any update on shipment so I followed up with IIR who was waiting for more info from Vivid. Got my order last thursday only to find out they sent the wrong slider. Instead of getting a Status slider I received an OMP slider. I sent an email over to IIR and Vivid/Agency Power. Billy at notified Anthony at Agency however I still haven't received any response to this. I love the quality of my Status seat and am very excited to put it in however I will definitely be avoiding Vivid/Agency Power in the future.

Summary

Although all of the exhaust systems above have their pros and cons, the Agency Power exhaust really offers the best bang-for-buck. It has tons of tips options, a 3***8243; mandrel bent design, and big 4***8243; tips, all for a really reasonable price. All of these exhaust systems work best when paired with a tune.
Vivid recommends the Agency Power exhaust. What an amazing coincidence
