Spk has a weather controller installed. So it is generally dry there and when it rains they still keep it open for awhile.

Still too early to tell, from my experience. But we'll see what a few days can do for predictions.

Forcast looks good!

FYI...if you have gloves that work well with a suede/acantara type steering wheel, they will NOT work well with these karts. THe wheels are sort of fake leather plastic so they're smooth. Works well with bare hands, but you will get blisters after 4 or 5 races. I'm going to pick up a set of those black sticky nubbed gloves from Home Depot and see how they do.

Still trying to come out, as long as the weather holds.

I used my motorcycle gloves with decent success. They didn't slip like mav1c's suede/acantara style gloves. So, leather or kangaroo skin should work fine, as well. Or the cheap Home Depot nubby things, which have still yet to be tested.

Weather looks good. Should be able to get in a quick MTB ride that morning, clean up and head up to Summit.

I plan to be there promptly at noon, if not a little earlier. The sooner we start, the more races we can get in.

$160 for kart until you puke is a little steep, so I dunno...

You might as well get the membership. IT's not like you're never going to go there again. And if you mention you already have a membership ay AllSports, you get an extra free race.

Haading out in about 45 minutes. For those that may show up that don't know me, I'll be in a red TrackDaze VIR shirt & white Simpson helmet with chin spoiler.

11 races is totally worth the various amounts of pain I'm in at the moment. Dropping my times down into the low 61s was quite nice as well. Great day out there, thank you for organizing this, mav1c.

And I should add, if you are able to qualify for their "PRO" level, you can get a discount on future days. They offer a KTYFU (Kart 'Til You F-Up) for $85, which gets you as much racing as you can handle for the day before you get a black flag. Even with some of the slower traffic out there, colder tires and the occasional RX250 kart zipping by, I had zero black flags on the day. I'm definitely in for a future $85/day karting.

Yeah. Awesome time. We'll have to get out there in a couple weeks. Wth the RX250 qualifying times supposedly going up, it should be easy for us to do that, and I really want to try one of those. Especially if we get the magic #31 kart.

I'm not sure why all these car "enthusiasts" don't come out for these karting events. Many, many people make it out to the meets, so why not these karting events? It's way more fun than standing around IMO, and of course you're still able to talk car stuff between, and after, races. Is it cost? Unfamiliarity? Just genuine lack of interest? I'd really like to know the reasons.

I understand schedule conflicts, other obligations, family, etc, but with enough notice, it shouldn't be too hard to mark it off on the calendar. Anyway...I hope we get more folks for the next one.

What kind of times are you looking for? A friend of mine dragged me out there on Sunday and the best I could do was ~65.

Well, not that I expect to win, but I think to at least be competitive we'd have to be running in the 61's, and at least in the low 62's.

I'd say we need at least 4 people. 5 would be better. 6 would be nice. The more people, the lower the cost, but less track time.
