Maybe we should instruct ladies (and gents) to say "nice car" instead

I've said 'cute car' in the past and I don't mean anything bad by it, but I can see that its definitely not a manly adjective...

I was leaving beach parking lot in my 04 STI a few years back and an older surfer guy yells out

"That's a nice "Toy" you got there!"

Not sure if he was serious or making fun.

Recently I've been getting the "Nice car/Nice Subaru" at gas stations and such. Not really funny but its something.

My girlfriends farther one time asked how much it cost to put that scoop on my hood.
I just looked at him confused then said it come like that from the factory.

...he didn't say anything after. Pretty sure he hates my car. He drives a jeep, miserable old man.

A few days ago I took my 70-something neighbor to the local Pep Boys to buy a battery for her dead-at-the-curb Camry. We went in my 1995 Legacy wagon, and to make idle conversation, I told her that I always enjoyed having a wagon for my car. "That's why I like hanging on to this Subaru wagon," I said.

"This is a wagon?!?" she said. "And it's a Subaru?"

I have owned this car for the entire time we've been neighbors -- more than 13 years. She's a lovely lady but there are just some people out there to whom cars might as well be the secret sauce. ("You make that with mayonnaise and ketchup?!?")

I was giving my wife a ride home from work and I turned on to an empty street with a 60 mph limit (Newport coast, ferrari country). I gave it about 60% while yelling "POWAAAAH!!!!!". I could see my wife bracing herself and then stated to whimper. Then she says, "GODDAMNIT, DARTH MAGNUS! When you drive that fast, I can't even see! EVERTYHING GETS BLURRY!"

*FYI, I was within the speed limit, I just accelerated briskly*

POWAH!!!!!

I did something similar to a chick i know in town after seeing that video. Only instead i was in the left turn lane and it turned yellow about 50 ft out or so. I simply asked "are you ready?" she gave me the weirdest look and when i proceeded to shift into 2nd and sling shot out once we got in the other lane.....continued to scream profanities at me.

I was legitimately doing the 35 mph speed limit through the corner....I'm just not a fan of driving like grandma and turning at 2 mph when its SOOOO much more fun to do at the speed limit.

still have yet to find the opportune time to use the POWAH line....waiting....and watching....

The girl sitting next to me, grabbed my arm and yelled, "SLOW DOWN!" (I was obeying the speed limit, I was on the highway and slowed down before accelerating) and my friend in the back seat shot back and laughed in enjoyment.

Talking to my calc teacher before class ends. She's really chill.
"Hey you wanna see my latest car mod"
"Sure Drew"
I pulled out my phone and showed her an Instagram video of my subwoofer LEDs that pulse to the music.
"You know, you're a weird kid."
Lol
