Definitely post man! Everyone starts somewhere. You'll be amazed how fast you progress if you are serious about it.

I will bet a significant amount of money that I would do worse than you, and I'm 2 months in.

I think I'm going to jump back into Crossfit. I'll probably add the WOD at the end of my regular 5-3-1 program. I've been lazy lately and the flab is starting to pile on.

went today.
Spent time being coached through form.
did
75 front squats (45lb)
75 strict press (35lbs)
in three rounds. Took 24min.

Really had to push myself to make it. i had a bunch of rep fails on both exercises. I really really need to work on my hip flexibility or my knees will hate me.
Also, i don't like using bars already. It's really friggin awkward.

<--has never been an athlete.

This is what I've been trying to do, as well, Lou. It seems to kick my ass pretty good...

www.crossfit.com is the national page.

My local box's website is www.crossfitsteelecreek.com

The workouts *look* easy on paper....

Got good gloves too. My pullups are the weakness anyway, I don't think I've strung 5 together yet, so we'll see.

i think pull ups are rough on everybody. Especially if you aren't very trim to begin with.
I can do underhand pull ups 10 reps right now, but overhand is like 3.

5'9" 202 is not 'trim', so I'm with ya. Down from 212 though and I've kipped a couple pull ups, maybe I'll try smacking Cindy underhand today.

Well I did it!

11 rounds, my first time through Cindy, no torn skin and at least 8 of the 11 rounds I put 5 solid ones up.

I did look like a fish at the end of some 10 lb test for some of it though.

Dude,
Be careful. That's a ****load of weight/reps unless you're over 6' and weigh 200+.

You're bound to crap out on form also. I'm 5'8 160 and my 1rm DL from about 6 months ago is 340. I'd never do 300x30. That's the kinda **** that idiots with no prior experience who took a couple $1000 certs and are now running CF gyms dream up that gets people injured.

C/N Just be careful.

Ive been weightlifting for the past decade...I know what I'm doing. Form is my priority, not weight. Also, the WOD was just 30 DL's...just for me(my own workout). What's heavy to some, isnt as heavy to others. Not to say this wasnt hard, because it was, but I probably could have went 5-10lbs heavier.

Regardless, I had my instructor watch me super close so he could watch my form if it got off the least. I was prepared to drop weight quick if it my form went haywire. It didnt. When you've lifted for a long time, all it takes is concentration and focus. Anyways, it took me 12 minutes to do it.
